I bought one of these guitars off of eBay a few months ago for $325 in mint unplayed condition! Awesome guitar! As a long time Strat player exclusively, this guitar is exactly what I've always wanted in a guitar! 25.5" scale length bolt-on neck which is a must have for my preference, tried LP's and loved the power and tone, but ultimately it always left me wanting that snap and solid feel of the 25.5" string tension regardless of what string gauge I used on it. This guitar is the perfect balance between a Strat and an LP and then some...a lot actually! It's comfortable, light weight, hangs perfect, 12" fretboard radius playability, thinner but substantial back of neck contour that's not too drastically off from a standard guitar, powerful and versatile sounding pup's (stock ones aren't overly hot, but they have power and tone that really works great with a higher gain amp and let the amps gain do the work), the basswood body has a very balanced tone and offers a slight natural compression compared to alder or poplar that I really like, great build quality and fret condition stock...the Edge tremolo stays in tune (a first for me ;)!!!!!!! The look of this guitar was initially a stretch for me as I've always been a classic guitar kinda guy, but the cool thing is it actually freed me of pigeon holing the guitar to the genre of music it was meant for sotospeak! This guitar is a jack of all trades and delivers in spades at all of them! A custom built Strat to the exact specs and features of the JS100 is the only guitar on my wish list now!

In the year 2000, this is the first electric guitar I bought by myself. I owned a Yamaha Kit guitar my parents bought me and that was my only guitar before hand. At About 2007 I has financial issues and ended up selling this guitar and re buying it for many months at a pawn shop until my addiction took over to the point I "had" to let it go. I have owned many guitars and gotten ridden of many guitars since, but this is the only one that I miss and feel like I had a real emotional feeling about. I remember loving the paint job on it as well.

I bought one about a year ago, I got a good price because it needed adjustments so I did them myself. The Edge Pro 2 is a great tremolo and stays in tune very well. I do heavy tremolo use and it stays in tune just fine. The spitter is great, nice single pickup tone as well as humbucker tone. It’s very versatile and has great sustain and attack. I kept the original pickups as they sound very good and have all the requirements for many styles of play. For a low end modal it is worth the money and is a great guitar for the price.

@@deancrow3525 I think they were around 800.00 or 900.00 new . I bought one about 3 years ago in very very good condition used for 350.00 & when I looked last on eBay they were going for 650 to almost 800.00 used so my investment has gone up it looks like . I honestly think the kid who had it before me didn't play it much & didn't know how to set up the Edge locking trem system on it & gave up on it so he sold it because when I got it it had to be set up again & plays very good now with the very same strings on it yet . It plays & sounds great & does everything it's supposed to but I prefer a wider neck like my RG770 has as well as my RGR320EX Road Rage reversed head stock ! I learned playing on thin necked electric guitars a 67 VOX Viper with the built in effects & a 80s ARBOR explorer that both played nice but once I started to play my RGs with the wider necks & got used to them I prefer those instead now because they allow me more room for my bigger fingers to move more freely as I had big strong hands from working as a mechanic for years & working in aluminum die casting foundries where there is a lot of squeezing & grabbing of parts as well as squeezing the spray guns to cool & lubricate the dies & now at almost 60 & full of arthritis that wider neck helps me still to be able to play yet although not with the dexterity I had when I was in my 20s & 30s before I got this crap lol.

I bought one of these second hand many years ago in a local store.... I absolutely loved it from day one... Of course the pickups have been traded out for Dimarzio's (Fred and Paf Joe) and Ive replaced the pots and switches. The treble bleed circuit is an absolute must as well as the sound you get out of the pickups when you turn them down a little is just unbelievable. Adding to this, last year I did a chameleon paint job on it... with the chrome hardware it looks insane. Suffice to say that was playing it earlier today and it still is my 'go to' superstrat type guitar. The neck is just perfect!. I have four electric guitars... A Les Paul, A Strat, a Tele (the holy trinity... lol) and this one... Im a happy man. I just wish I had the $ to buy a JS2450 in purple!... but I'll live.. ;)

I love my js100 , I've had it for over 10 years . I put a dimarzio mo joe in the bridge & paf joe in the neck , even though the stock pickups that the guitar came with were actually pretty sweet. I just bought one of these yesterday, and the comments about the tuning issues kinda make me chuckle. I set the tuning properly and started playing. Funny thing is the locking nut is amazing. When I bought the guitar, the high e and the d strings were both broken above the nut. The guitar plays in tune perfectly after some time in a hot car and doesn't go out of tune.

A used Ibanez JS-100 goes for about $325 and a used JS-1000 goes for about $725. Question is, Is it worth the extra $400. Methinks no. A really awesome guitar max, should be around $800 new. I build guitars as a hobby and I built an incredible Telecaster Thinline with a Nice Musikraft Neck for about $400. Yep $400. Friends of mine can't believe the quality and playability. Wilkinson Tuners, Dragonfire Tele Bridge Pickup and a Wilkinson neck pickup. I wish I could post a picture of it. I'd show you. Its insane.

@Relentent : Probably not the EVH D-Tuna (Assumimg that's what you meant) was specifically designed for the original floyd rose. -- Anyway, since the lower-end models all now have the "Edge-Zero II bridge w/ZPS3Fe" instead of the Edge-III, has this guitar been updated to have it too?

@Coppulor1 They tend to require a lot of maintenance so they keep in tune properly. If the floyd is of poor quality, it will rarely keep in tune. I haven't used one myself but I read a lot of pros and cons about floyds. I think if you're beggining to learn, first you should develop both your hands. Then, if your style fits the use of a tremolo, you should buy a guitar that you like with a good trem system and learn how to properly maintain a tremolo.

I've heard a lot of reviews on this guitar ... Watched a few videos of how they sound! At the end of the day though your stuck with a lower end tremolo! Trust me I bought a used Jem 555 that came equipped with an Edge 3. It sounded great when it was in tune but later found out the knife edges were worn so it was always a problem! Basically it's going to sit there until I can buy a used Edge Pro to replace the edge 3! My next guitar is going to have the Legendary Original Edge! That is what's on the high end IBANEZ guitars.. Ahem... oh ,Joe likes to use them very much too!
