Very tasty playing, man! I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on this online, used. The ironic thing is, I'm not a huge Satch fan, but this Guitar is fantastic and incredibly well-designed. I'm old enough to remember that this body style goes back to the Radius Series back in the 80s from Ibanez, just for Trivia/Guitar Geek sake lol Take care ♫

my road to a Satriani guitar was pretty much exactly the same as yours. I picked up a powder blue Pia last October, then picked up the JS2450 in muscle car purple here a coupla months ago. Same exact thoughts on my end, the JS actually is more my speed between it and the Pia. For the record, turned 50 in August... I think you and I probably had the same childhood. Good job with the opening song. Got yourself a new subscriber.

Thanks for making this helpful review. Great playing! I'm really interested in the usability of the trem stopper you added. I've been considering getting a JS2410 and installing something like that. Does it allow you to put enough tension on the springs so that you can execute 2.5 stop bends and unison bends without pulling the bridge down?
@tonlarj37 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes! You can tighten it down well enough for double stops

I have a tremol-no I might put in my new one. I’ve used them for years. They work well. They’re $50, but do the deed without screwing into the guitar. And, you can put everything back to stick if needed. Just can’t put the back plate on. I always keep mine off anyway. So, for whatever that’s worth.
@jonathancarmichael1578 Жыл бұрын
@@tonlarj37 The Tremol-no was my first attempt at achieving this on my JS1200. I might have gotten a dud because I could not get it to lock down. It kept slipping. I was very disappointed because I had high expectations. That's what's led me to consider the stopper like you have. Other than having to screw it into the wood, is there any downside that you've encountered with it?

Tony, i´m in doubt. I recently played a JS 2480 the red one with sustaniac and i think it´s awesome. Should it be possible to put a sustaniac in de 2450 MCP? Because i do not like the color red and the purple 2450 is a great color. What do you think about the sustaniac?
@tonlarj372 жыл бұрын
I think sustainiac is really fun, but not necessary for most situation’s. At least in my opinion. I wouldn’t risk the complications of putting on in unless you know someone who’s ‘an expert.

i just got my JS2410 MSO, which has the same material and everything(except the finish color) with JS2450, but I feel the sound is quite dim and stuffy, comparing to my js1cr and your JS2450 in this video, I play it through a JVM410hjs. I'm wondering if there is any adjustment I can do to make sound more 'right'?
@tonlarj373 жыл бұрын
Congrats! As far as the sound goes? This bridge pickup has a higher midrange. Might just need to tinker with the eq and settings until you find it? I use a Kemper and have tried a lot of different amps to find what works best to my ear. I've tried a JVM410hjs profile and it sounds really good. Maybe see if there's any KZbin video's of the JVM410hjs that can help?

What would you consider to be your best playing, comfortable guitar of your collection?
@tonlarj37 Жыл бұрын
I have all my guitars setup to play the best. Each vary depending on songs or styles. For instance, my JS2450 is probably overall favorite for fast shredding, legato, but I don’t prefer it on something I’d use my Grestch TN Rose. Just depends on what I’m writing and recording.

How would you compare the JS2450 to the PIA? Can you recommend one over the other if you could only get one? Why?
@tonlarj372 ай бұрын
They are two completely different feeling/ style of guitar. It would depend on what playing style you prefer best. I like them both for different applications. PIA has a wide and flat neck and built for effortless speed. Feels like a typical Ibanez shred guitar. But, the JS2450 feels more like in the realm of a MusicMan/PRS/Suhr/Fender neck with an almost 10in radius, thicker neck, than PIA and smaller frets. They both feel great and I can shed them both. But, the JS2450 is a little more diverse and probably be comfortable for most guitarist. I'm more comfortable playing bluesy rock on that one. The PIA is more of a lead guitarist virtuoso type instrument. You really need to try and find some of these to play. Or, take the risk. Again, they're both great! I sold my PIA because I had to sell some guitars. Though, I think I liked it a little better. It came down to being able to get more $ for the PIA and the JS2450 is just an around solid guitar that has fantastic coil slit sounds. Hope this helps?
