These new PIA (Paradise In Art) guitars are the latest release from the amazing partnership between Steve Via and Ibanez. The Ibanez PIA Steve Vai signature model features a Comfortably-shaped Alder body, with a new Petal Grip cutaway, Scalloped fingerboard on frets 21-24, magnetic backplate and luminlay side dots Rosewood fingerboard with PIA Blossom inlay, and Prestige Fret Edge treatment.
This is an incredible performance guitar and the newest limited edition Steve Vai signature model for 2020.

Damn! That is some of the best playing I've heard in ages! And a WONDERFUL demonstration of the Utopias. I've been considering buying some but I think you've just sold me on them. I've been a DiMarzio user since '86. They just rock! These Utopias totally fit the sort of tone profile I'm going for. Power, clarity, warmth, sustain, harmonic complexity, as wonderful clean as with high gain. Just amazing!

Steve Vai would be incredibly proud of that vibrato, and you know that's saying something. Extremely tasteful playing. Good lord. I will say I've never been a fan of JEMs or even Ibanez RGs in general. I am a huge fan of the PIAs though. Don't think I'll go running out to buy one but overall it's far nicer looking compared to the older JEMS. I think a lot of the reason why I don't like the JEM is because I've never liked RGs with the sharp/pointy edges on super strat style bodies. What attracts me to the PIAs is the beveled edges and contours. It just looks smooth, classy and elegant in comparison to your typical RG/JEM shape. Really classy looking guitar.

i was watching him while he was still on Dawson's guitar channel reviewing guitars, he's just the best reviewer ever cause he'd demo each of the guitars' pickups on a clean channel.. at least that way you'd hear what the guitar sounds like and not so much rather of the amp.. when he reviewed the JEM premium blue floral that was jaw dropping.. cause we've all heard vai fans cover FTLOG a thousand times, BUT i've never heard anyone cover 'blue powder' , LEE just said this is a blue guitar so we do a song fitting for it, then proceeded to shred 'blue powder' ,it was jaw dropping performance.. i'll never forget LEE WRATHE from that day on...

Always loved Jems, and now I am in awe of the PIA. However, all demos (including this absolutely jaw-dropping one) use a tones similar to Steve Vai's. It is difficult to tell what the guitar would sound like in various musical settings and hrough other rigs for us mere humans :(

I wonder why most of the reviews always neglect to review the thickness and playability of the neck which is i think one of the most crucial decisions in getting a guitar.

Because it's subjective. The reviewer could speak highly on the neck playability but could mean squat to those Gibson, Fender and Charvel crowd. I personally prefer both thin and thick necks and will depend on the genre I'm playing

Unfortunately they've discontinued all Japanese made JEMs now. The Indonesian made ones are not better. I've got a Jap RG1570 and it's far better than the current blue floral I own. I also own the Japanese made FP2 JEM. It's like a totally different instrument. Track down a Japanese JEM and have a play, you'll enjoy if you like your 570.

These Vai guitars are good but overpriced. Mr Vai must be getting a tidy sum from each guitar that is sold. I would rather buy the pick ups and pop them in a RG and save myself £2800!

I've not played a PIA yet, but I strongly recommend you play a Japanese made JEM (i.e. a proper one) and you'll see a massive difference between it and a standard RG. They are different to J.Custom as well. I prefer the JEM. This isn't meant as a dig towards you as I thought the same until I got my JEM FP2.

it's a mix problem because many guitarists are not drummers i am a drummer and a guitarist i try to have the best mix every time in my covers that's the main difference i play all the sounds(synth horns choirs too, bass) +guitars+drums these guitarists are not drummers neither sound engineer so sometimes it sounds good or not the drums must be loud but the guitar must not be under the drums level
