Flying tonight on this aircraft, Buenos Aires to Madrid. I chose it mainly because of this video. It's also worth mentioning that on a long haul flight such as this with Iberia, they allow 2 check in bags and one carry on aand changing your seat at online check in is free of charge, unlike British Airways 777s. It's not bad and agree with most of your comments except the seats. Real pain. Hard and unconfortable for my back. Legrests would be fantastic. And yes....crews could be really unfriendly. I would appreciate some amenities in coach. What I love about Iberia is how safe they are and how well they know South American skies.

A really excellent video and I'm considering changing to Iberia for our next trip to the UK as these A340-600s are much better equipped than than the old British Airways Boeing 777s. USB charging and more space for example. They certainly look as though they've improved since 2014 when I last used them anyway. Thanks for uploading.

I really like Iberia and I would fly with them, but they want to replace the majestic A340-600 with A350-900XWB and that makes me really sad!, by the way A340-600 of Iberia is one of my most favorites aircrafts. Hello, Nikolay! Bulgaria must be a beautiful country, I would love to visit it someday! I also love the A340-600, it is one of the most gorgeous aircraft, and the new IB livery really suits them! I'm also sad to hear they are planning to replace them, but we still have time to fly this airplane until they do so... Iberia has just made a massive investment in refurbishing the whole A340 fleet, so they will obviously remain using them for many years! Regarding the meal service, they have improved their catering selection although this time, as I said on the conclusion (minute 15:56), the main meal service was a bit scarce but still flavourful and delicious. Logan Tv Channel hey Logan! Yeah, turbulences happen on almost every flight, but don't worry, it actually is comparably similar to the bumps you hit on the road with a vehicle. The flight took 12 hours and 45 minutes approximately. When you fly Buenos Aires - Madrid it takes a bit less time because of the tail winds, it takes around 30-60 minutes less than this flight Thanks for your comment! :D

am1966ath You are right, they still fly at midnight. There is another IB flight to Buenos Aires that departs at 00.05 in the night. This also happens with other routes, they operate a mid day and a mid night flight daily, for example with Santiago de Chile, Bogotá, etc :D

In the late 1980 s Iberia operated the B 747 and DC 10 s out of Madrid to South America..also Aerolineas Argentinas B 747 and Avianca B 747 and Varig DC 10 s..these usually started in Northern European hubs like Frankfurt,Paris,Amsterdam,Zurich and would reach Madrid after midnight and together with IBERIA s big birds they would depart in the early hours of the morning..today mostly Iberia has another timetable which makes it hard if youre overbooked to South America to find a late night flight..happened to me with Alitalia..they gave my seat, Rome -Buenos Aires toa diplomat and booked me on a late night flight to Madrid were all the South American flights had left at noon..spent a night at airport hotel and flew out the next day..via Rio de Janeiro...arriving in Ezeiza at 0300 in teh morning..Alitalia is a criminal airline..

Wow! I liked the explanation! I didn't know some of this facts... All these airlines have changed a lot to this days, and I would say IB is the main airline in this market, and it's indeed one of the most powerful ones in Europe mainly supported by the oneworld alliance, which opens a profitable market through codeshare flights along with LATAM. I don't know Alitalia very well, but, as many other airlines, if you are planning to make a flight connection, you should check the times twice, because most of the times they focus on selling you the ticket and earning money and they don't really care about causing you inconveniences with the schedules... Hallo Serdar! Thanks for your comment. Sadly there is no amenity kit in economy class, and it would be awesome if someday they add it as a complementary thing for such long flights. Regarding the alcoholic drinks policy, I'm not 100% sure but I think you can get as many beers, wine, and other alcoholic drinks as you want, but for safety reasons, the crew reduces the amount of alcohol served to the passengers at some point. But surely, for example, you can get some wine as a complimentary drink with your meal if you want :)

Its highly unlikely that the crew per Iberia contractual conditions goes back all the way to Mad next morning, Im pretty sure a previous crew from the day before takes the aircraft back, minimun crew rest wont allow a crew to man a flight after a Ultra long haul flight, going thu several time zones, btw awesome report I loved every minute of it @flying98.

Yep, our minimum rest in ultra long-haul flights (Buenos Aires, Tokyo, Santiago de Chile, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro and Johannesburg is 40h while regular long-haul flights (most of US flights, Caribbean and some Latin American) is 24 to 30h of rest in the destination. There are some places such as Boston, NYC and Tel Aviv or Moscow that we just rest 20h but it's enough due to the short travel time (just 5 to 6h)

I just flew with them a few weeks backk on the same route, and my impressions are: - IFE Excellent - Wifi works perfect -Mid flight sandwich was disgusting (if you see the ingredients you will not ate them) -Pre landing snack box (Everything just OK, with the excepction of the croissant wchich was disgutting) So, I would take with me a pack of cookies and it will be fine.

Hello, so as you asked, seat 51E is next to an "empty space" where a direct aisle escape hatch opens from the floor, which is connected to the rest area for the crew, which is located downstairs. Acabo de estar un mes en argentina Vuelo de ida con iberia, resumen: Azafatos bordes y antipaticos, comida horrible, ni agua en 13 horas. Vuelta con iberia hacia Madrid: azafatas amables, comida descente, pasaron a ofrecer agua durante el vuelo, salio en hora y llego con antelacion. Todo ok! Quise ser sincero, en lo bueno y lo malo.

Solían quedarse durante 24 horas cuando iberia podia permitirse ese descanso tan largo para sus tripulaciones. Ahora mismo, permancen en la mayoria de destinos de largo radio durante 12 horas. A veces tienen una estancia más larga. Por ejemplo, este vuelo Madrid-Buenos Aires tiene su llegada a Ezeiza a las 8 de la tarde. Lo que digo es que la tripulacion descansa en Buenos Aires y vuelan a Madrid en el primer vuelo del siguiente día, que sale hacia las 2 de la tarde. Eso son más de 12 horas de estancia pero no deja de ser una sola noche de descanso en el destino. Lo consulté en este mismo vuelo con un familiar que trabaja de sobrecargo en Iberia en los vuelos de largo radio. Un saludo :D

Son 12 horas de vuelo desde la tierra de los Gallegos hasta las tierras de los boludos, y el personal de Iberia es muy bueno y su comida mejor, y su atención inmejorable, a parte si vas en turista en la parte trasera te dan helados y bocadillos riquisiiiiimos, cepillos de diente y zumos de todo tipo, viaja por Aerolineas Argentina y te abren las maletas y te roban, y cuando llegas a Buenos Aires te tratan como mierda y te requisan el jamón serrano envasado al vacío sin hueso y con trasabilidad. Iberia 1 , Aerolineas Argentina (-1)= (menos 1) saludos Iberia por su buena atención y gracias.

joerrr solo una comida da iberia, ,y el resto puro zumo con bollo q fuerte mientras q en el air france da 2comidas mas una buena merienda, ,en clase economica, luego en el air china tambien brindan 2 buenas comidas chinass

Hola alveiro JIo, estaría muy bien que añadieran una segunda comida caliente previo al aterrizaje... quizá en un futuro! Pero al menos la calidad del catering es muy buena, mejor que en muchas otras compañías, sinceramente. Un saludo
