Consistently the best reviewer on the planet. How he has full on detailed convo while going 40mph dh is beyond my comprehension. Thinking seriously about the mojo.

Literally RIPPING these trails at about 6:30 on , while talking! Major props sir!! BTW , just picked up a earlier Mojo today , full black carbon and it had never been off road. Built by a guy who worked out of country. Put $7500.00 into it , and I got it today for $1800.00. It's brand new! So stoked right now!

I sure like your review format. When I hear that atmospheric intro I immediately go full screen, get up close, select HD and enjoy the ride from the position of your handlebar! A review of the Revel Rail 650B would sure be wonderful. I can't decide if I want this Mojo-4, a Revel Rail 650B or go up to 29'' for the new Trail-429. I've rewatched both of your review-rides for the Mojo-4 and the Pivot Trail-429 and I just can't tell which one appears to have the most responsive handling. To me jumps are OK, but I ride mostly for the whips and curves, plus I want a bike that climbs like a mountain goat. I love the way you love this Mojo-4 in the bumps and how well you say it smoothes them out. Seems the Trail-429 is closer to the ride I'd expect from more of a stiffer XC-oriented bike. I'd sure love it if I could compare your reviews against each other. If you were to review the Revel Rail I'd love to compare it's against this Mojo-4. Thank you for these, I think they're the best on the Web.

Came back to revisit this review. There are some great deals on the Mojo 4 right now and now I can't make up my mind on what I am getting. I had my mind made up on a Ripley AF but for a bit more I can get the carbon Mojo 4....decisions, decisions!
@hallindsey24302 жыл бұрын
I was in the exact same boat as you. I just pulled the trigger on a mojo 4 from N + 1 bikes. 35% off with carbon wheels and free shipping (promo code MOJO35). Came out to $3300 for Deore build which was cheaper than a new Ripley AF. Deal was too good to pass up.

Great review..exactly how I feel about my Mojo 3, but better geometry. Do you know the weight of that Deore build? .. and do you think it's worth saving the $900 over the slx? I'm thinking Deore with the carbon wheel upgrade. Thanks. 👍

That's good thinking, except I'm going for Santa Cruz Reserve carbon wheels - at my weight they're necessary

I’m not sure what bike to go with for a one bike to do it all since I’m poor. It’s a toss up between the mojo , mojo hd5, or ripley. I’m in central Texas so we don’t have too many gnarly down hill trails. Mostly back country trails. Any suggestions?

Sick video! You were glued to the ground and going Mach-Chicken!!!!! So being 205lbs. how did you like that light tune?
@johnsospencer4 жыл бұрын
I really dig the light tune. It’s just super adjustable. You can run a lot of sag and still get the rebound speed fast enough to recover. It makes for one plush ride. Also one of the lightest feeling compression tunes when left wide open. I’m a fan!
@mprox34313 жыл бұрын
a year late with this comment but in the market for a new bike and your reviews are very fun to watch. i'm not sure anyone from my neighborhood can ride like you do Again so fun to watch. My question is what about much slower riders and much older rider. Would this mojo be a better choice than say the Pivot 429? I will say nearly every bike you ride I think well that"s a good one. Great job!
@CasteelG4 жыл бұрын
Great review! That build is rad for the price. Really smart for Ibis to spec Deore with Factory level suspension and their house brand wheels. Would put you Deore performance way above NX?
@johnsospencer4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’d say so. Brakes especially. Smart money!
@lfsiuvagacwoi4 жыл бұрын
CasteelG Deore is super reliable, longer lasting, and has better shift quality. Deore also has a metal cage in the mech while NX is plastic. I would never use NX again knowing that Deore exists. As for brakes, I haven’t tried them but but I can only assume they are of equally good quality

Hey Spencer, I'm in my early 60s and used to lead the pack before my parents got sick and needed full time care for 15 years. So I'm going on the road for 2-3 years in a van with a mountain bike to tour the Western & Southern State's trails. I'd like your recommendation for a bike 1/2 way between an Exie and a Santa Cruz V10 so I can enjoy everything this country throws at me. I'd tossed around the idea of a Mojo-4 but I'm not certain is has quite enough travel. I'm 5' 7" and prefer 27.5'' and I plan to go to either a FOX 36 or a FOX 38, so that might make a considerable difference, along with a 2.6'' rear tire. Your thoughts? Thank you!!

how does this one compare to the Evil Following (2020 model)?

The following is stiffer and tigger feeling with its less suspension and smaller volume tires. The mojo is way softer feeling. The mojo is a bike you can just lean back and plow through the tech on. Both bikes pedal incredibly well!

425mm chainstay length on a large?
@dadventuretv25384 жыл бұрын
“Rolls over terrain like it’s a 29er.” Course it does. You have 27.5 x 2.6s on there. There is only a half inch difference in actual diameter between that size tire and a 29 x 2.3. Check out my vid on actual wheel and tire diameter measurements. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHi1hZ6PaZ6co7M I think the maneuverability and flickability of 27.5s comes more from their bb drop- you sit quite higher up compared to the axles with a 27.5 than a 29er, making it easier to get the frame’s mass moving and lift the wheel. Just my hypothesis. But the wheel size difference- not as big as it may seem at first glance.
