Finally a great MTB company has the guts to bring bike manufacturing back home. Well done Ibis! Sign me up.

Bring back the mojo please! Nothing comes close in design to the mojo. I still have mines from 2007. And I still get stopped on the trails. For sure when I retire it, I will put the frame on the wall in my home as a memory of what I most enjoyed outdoors come rain come shine. Only the Leftie front fork by Cannondale is the other outstanding design in the world of mtb. If I had had money back when i bought my ibis mojo, I would have considered the Leftie as a way to reduce the weight even more. It has been done by someone, but man does it look ugly on an ibis mojo! Dave Winkl also had a great idea on that bottom bracket! What innovation. Long live the mojo! Long live female industrial designers like Roxy Lo.

Why? Think of your discretionary spending. You have none at all? If so, then ok. But most Americans spend on vacations or things they don't NEED, but rather want. Instead of flying somewhere for vacation, skip it and save for a new Ibis. Or opt for a used car instead of paying 20% more for new. With phones costing $1,000, a $5k bike isn't so beyond the pale. My XTR ti bike lasted me 23 years - and I bought it used (and way, WAY cheaper than the $4k new).

I did an internship at a factory that made carbon fiber parts for the F-18 and CH-53. This is literally aerospace-grade manufacturing techniques (honestly, they look even better than many of the molds we used). I'm impressed that it's only that much, given the tools and infrastructure they have. But yeah certainly not cheap, but not out of the ordinary, for a race MTB
