Literally everything Ibrahim has ever recorded is absolute gold, the man is a genius. If I had to pick one piece then "Beirut" is special to me, but everything from his Dalida tribute album filled with perfect interpretations of pop songs to Levantine Symphony No. 1and his huge sounding ensemble compositions is incredible.

Ibrahim Maalouf's album with Oxmo Puccino "Au pays d'Alice" (narrating Alice in Wonderland) is nuts. The grooviest part is the solo section on "La Porte Bonheur". Funkiest shit I've ever heard. The whole album is a journey.

*I used to skateboard, and before going out for the day I would watch a handful of skate videos which were so inspiring i felt the intense urge to go out and skate. It was hype on tap in essence. Now, I drum, and you’re videos give me that same feeling 100% of the time. I watch one of your breakdown vids and instantly feel the intense urge to go drum. It helps that, since I’ve been drumming for so long; it gets harder and harder to find things I 1. simply cannot play, or more importantly 2. Cannnot think up on my own. Your videos are like exactly what I’ve been looking for, someone who is at a similar skill level, and is now working to find those illusory mental/imagination obstacles that were the entire fun of learning to drum early on. The more obstacles you’ve cleared, the harder the remaining ones are to find. You’ve made a channel putting the choicest, hand picked, organize drumming obstacles on the shelf just for. And you’re breakdowns of these obstacles and concepts, help me work through them with as much ease as I want, which is some, but not too much. For these reasons, it’s true to say you are my favorite drum education channel on the Internet. You cater to a specific niche that no one else really even tried to tackle. Tech drumming 202.* So, sincerely, thank you for showing me these great artists, for plucking the drumming obstacles out of the abyss and showing me step by step what’s happening and how to play them in an easily digestible table way. 10/10

I am addicted to your videos. There is this one band from the tiny country of Andorra called "Persefone" and on their debut album they have a lot of incredibly creative time signature changes. In my humble an incredibly unique experience not just for the rather exotic origin of the band alone. The whole album is an experience, my personal favorite would probably be the song "Kusanagi"

I m french and loved Ibrahim for 10 years. You should listen beirut(LIVE) 6M views. Most efficient crescendo emotive slow in the world( with babe I'm gonna leave you perhaps) .He composed it when he was 14 and had travelled in Liban(his dad was libanese, and invented the quater note system on a trompet), listening led zepplin sitting in a street, alone, while a bomb exploded at 150 meters from him, and he didn't notice that. You must listen the song till the end and watch how he finally let the whole place for others musician at the apotheosis. Still love what you do.

Goddamn did I love that Ibrahim Maalouf song, I dont often listen to the things I hear on music education channels, but you have yet to bring me a song that didnt go on my playlist. In terms of music I’m obsessed with lately, it might not be the most complex thing ever, but as a vocalist I’ve had a hard time with Atlas’ new album Ukko, not just because of the unique vocal style and the amount of theatrical emotion involved in the lyrics, storytelling and performance, but also because of some choice moments of rhythmic trickery on the album. One that Ive had an especially hard time wrapping my head around is the breakdown on Taivanraanta, there is someting weird going on from when we start building up at 2:16 until we hit at 2:59 that is really hard to count, so I’ve learned it from auditory cues, but I really want to know whats going on here.

Absolutely love Hago. Very inspiring rhythmic tracks! :-) I am editing this comment to add that I wrote this not knowing Yogev is the actual drummer for Hago!!! Thanks for making this sublime album.

Wow! I really liked both songs but listening to the whole song "Free spirit" really blew me away! I'll be binge listening to Ibrahim Maalouf's music for a while... It would be super cool if you did something on Norwegian sax player Marius Neset. His music is pretty rhythmically intricate and the composing is really beautiful. "World song pt.1" or "Jaguar" From the album "Pinball" are cuts I'd love to hear you dissect.
