To the other new players that are watching this: Fire and metal are, by far, the easiest elements to cultivate for your first inner disciple. The reason being that their low-tier qi-gathering items are something you can just naturally get from on the map. Specifically spirit wood and stone essence. Jade essence is only slightly better than stone essence but is far more rare. Generally jade essence is more a cool to have, but don't shoot for it kind of resource. If you do the usual thing of mining up the entire map in your quest for caskets, you'll probably have enough stone essence to create 1-2 metal cultivation rooms and maybe even a jade essence or two. Word of warning about spirit wood: spirit wood timber does still retain qi gathering, but is worse than spirit wood. However you do get way more timber per craft, so if you're on a map that doesn't have much spirit wood, it can be beneficial to turn some of it into timber just to fill slots. Just don't go overboard if you can help it. Wood and Earth both require beast blood in order to get their lowest-tier qi-gathering items (Ice and Fire essence respectively) in addition to having said qi gathering items modify temperature of the room, necessitating that you build a ring of counteractive materials so as to not cook/freeze your disciples. However beast blood can be obtained via the slaying of any kind of awakened animal, at least one of which can be found on every map you run around on. Just be sure your disciples are either core-shaping or brought the doggo before actually tackling them. Water cultivation is actually one of the hardest ones to cultivate as the lowest tier qi-gathering item (lumina cores) requires exploring of a sub-location that's quite far from your sect. Which means you will have to first explore the province it's in, then explore that particular area to gather the materials. I'm pretty sure it's the great desert btw. Though tbh the great desert's chock full of really good stuff anyway. I recommend setting up camp rather than queing exploration due to the fact that your disciple will make back and forth trips for every exploration action. However making camp will periodically spawn events which count towards exploration. Setting up camp is, in general, superior for resource collection anyway. Plus you can always enter the area to get some beast blood while you're there. So yeah, unless you want to be basically forced to have exceedingly slow cultivation and exploration, start with either a fire or metal law. The trends detailed above remain the same for advanced resources as well. Metal and Fire have some of the highest tier qi gathering items. Fire in particular benefits greatly if you manage to luck out with a giant ginko tree. You can legitimately build a cultivation room around the damned thing and you would probably be better served than any other law. Hell, building a cultivation room around the damned thing is a good idea no matter what your law tbh. It has a range of 5, you can just stick it at the edge of your plinths and still reap the qi benefits. High tier wood and earth items suck ass. They're boss drops. High tier water cultivation items suck even more ass for the same reasons, but you have to go to an entirely different, and much further area. Pretty sure it's also controlled by an evil sect as well. So y'know, you either fight them or ally with them.

Yes I am here. Early to the show this time. Lets start with some corrections: 1. %match has a massive effect on all cultivators as it is one of the factors that contributes directly to break through chance and golden core quality (the cultivator tab has a law stat with *'s that represents this %match, bad %match = weak GC). 2. Ok so some things about cushion setups and the gather Qi stat on items. Firstly there are 2 type of Qi, item absorbed qi which is shown on an item as the "Qi:" stat with the (+/- )/s increase beside it (some items have a fixed Qi value as well as the absorbed value, sun pills etc) and world Qi. World Qi has 2 systems, one from the ambient nodes centered in mountains at random that spawn on your map at the beginning of the game and the world Qi generated by the Qi gather stat (these values are shown by the more info mod which is on in this video and shows the Qi gathering values/max at the bottom right of the screen). The idea of the cushion setup is to build up world Qi in the one tile were the cultivator sits which affects the cultivation tabs Qi stat * value (as well as the break through tabs Qi density value) increasing cultivation speed and break through bonuses (world Qi does affect the amount of Qi that a cultivator recovers per second based on the Qi absorption stat but world Qi is not consumed or gathered only focused). 3. Qi sense affects both max Qi and the inner cauldron which probably should have been talked about even if briefly during the video (it's a mid game thing but explaining that increasing the inner cauldron increases max Qi is rather important). Some things to add: There are several Xiandao laws that you either need to find or win in the kunlun event in order to unlock them (these are considered the advanced laws). Primordial spirit which comes after the golden core and adds another system to cultivation (sub spirits). The different type of tribulations that happen at some break throughs for certain laws, attainment tribulations, age tribulations, heavenly tribulations and the virtue system. I had to come back to this video after a week or so of playing this game by myself and it makss perfect sense now. you've helped me see quite a few things I've been doing wrong fundamentally

Very happy to hear that! Gotta say I keep learning a lot of things as I go on myself as well. So I am sure there are still a few things in this video which need correction or expansion - luckily some awesome people already got me covered there. The game's detail level is really big. Like, really, really big. I am quite impressed by it every time, cause it also means there's a lot to adjust and to learn.

A little bit of info, as far as i've seen feng shui has 2 tiles range instead of three, and that also applies to walls and any furniture with feng shui, so the best is to make cultivation rooms with 2 tiles of space between the outer display and the walls. Flooring also has feng shuin but it's 1 tile radius, so you can fill the diamond of displays with a flooring that feeds your cultivator law and the rest of the room with other material (only for aesthetics tho), and flooring in other rooms also has to feed the element that furniture is made of (so an auspicious room would be made of walls and flooring of earth, and a bed/wor station/decorations made of metal for example) This flooring and 2 range feng shui is useful to make bigger auspicious rooms, for example an alchemy room would be 5 alchemy stations of different materials 2 tiles from each other and 2 tiles from the walls, with flooring (under the alchemy station only) from the element that feeds the alchemy station, same applies to furniture here, with this you can have all 5 elements coexisting in one room, tho a barren room decreases feng shui, so any other decorations aside from the ones surrounding the buildings should be made of spirit stone blocks, hope this help.

Thanks for that! The radius of things is always 1 tile less than the number says, since it somehow counts the starting tile in. I had no clue about the flooring, big thanks, really helped me as well! I really wanna try to make something balanced one day soon =)

tons of information and you pretty much answered almost all my question, i'm just wondering about skills and how they work as well as artifacts grade that everyone talks about just one note, your personal camera's placement was at a disadvantageous spot for new player to see the icon you were refering to, but as long as they played for few minute they should found out which is which

I built a cultivation room around a giant ginkgo tree following the logic of: items affect element with a range of 3. But the center of the gets about 40% wood element now. Works perfectly fine for a fire cultivator. For my metal guy, not so much though. So my guess is special trees are an exception to that rule? Also have you ever successfully grown a crimsonfruit or sagefruit?

Elemental concentration in an area comes down to just a few factors. The tier of an item, it's qi gathering strength, spacing and some hidden stats that I have been able to see in practice that cause minor variance when removing or replacing items (plz note that flooring including the natural ground also affects elemental values, but not roofing). You also need to overcome possible environmental changes that different weather events and seasons can bring. Giant ginkgo trees are not an exception nor are the special spirit trees that can be grown (they just can't be replaced as easily). As for growing the spirit trees they have specific requirements like temperature and soil quality that are needed to grow them (one spirit tree grow only in water and soil quality deteriorates over time and is increased by placing corpses and allowing them to break down/time out in an area you wish to increase the value of). xi=Shee so it's Shee-an-dow. Though pronouncing it fast can result in something akin to "Shandao". The Zian sound is from Tian. Sorry if this comes off a bit dickish, I just know a lot of english speaking people struggle with mandarin. It's a giant ass to translate into english for a lot of different reasons.

Close, but no banana. Xian is not Xi'an, and it is indeed ONE word instead of two. 仙道, or the way of Xian/Immortals. Not 西安道, lol.

Good stuff mate, I bought the game recently, its pretty interesting but do you know if the game goes beyond people throwing kites at each other?

It goes far beyond that lol, although i agree the artifact combat is quite lackluster there's formations, spirit pets, body cultivation, divine cultivation, different laws and spells and even more to flesh it out.

Way beyond that. There is a lot of different things to try. Go and be One Punch Man (Body Cultivator) or try to be a living god (Shendao). Then every Law has really different ways of progression (some force you to travel a lot among humans, some force you to craft crazy medicine). Or you could try to turn that recently awakened door hopping around in your sect into a cultivator. Just amplify it's stats by feeding crazy stuff to it, form it a body, reincarnate it into that body and net in a crazy strong "self made man". I don't know how many different things there are still going on, but yeah. It's more than people throwing kites at each other ;)
