A thought: If you're not starting with a wealth of good material, you're pretty safe with wooden everything while you get set up. The quality will be bad, but the feng shui won't be awful even when the incidental earth or metal item, since nothing is going to have a super strong effect. You can use it just fine until you have the tools to make everything right.

General tips for yaoguai; To survive tribulation they have to be at minimum golden core state. There are some medicines and techniques from different laws that can reduce the damage or prolong your time before tribulation, but ultimately the best way to do so is to gain "virtue". Virtue and Sin are generated from the character's actions. Helping passersby and taking the "good" options on adventurers seem to be the most garunteed means of gaining virtue. Sin, conversely, will increase the damage of tribulations and is generally created via picking "evil" options on adventures or cultivating an evil path using things like corpse or soul absorption. The effect of either stacks up to ten for, I believe, a 60% increase or decrease. Usually, if a tribulation is of a single element, you can have your cultivator stay in a room with an element that suppresses the element of the tribulation to reduce it's damage. However the shapeshifting tribulation is of every element so there's really no other method than to tough it out. Ultimately your means to do that is related to your qi shielding skill and constitution. Have medicine on standby to cure them of element-related wounds and use as many artifacts and medicines as you can to boost their defencive capabilities before sitting them in a room that empowers their element. After that, it's a matter of chance. However, don't feel too bad if your yaoguai fails. They'll revert to an awakened beast and become hostile, but that can provide beast blood, hide, and other helpful materials so long as you have someone that's at least core-shaping to take them out should they fail. I had a game start Yaoguai that was insanely good, but their tribulation was dated like a month out! I had no idea how far they had to get to survive, and even now no idea how to get someone from game start to golden core in such a small period of time. I kinda wish they came with a better warning.

I've been going through a lot of your videos, I quite like them! You've been super helpful. Do you think you can make a video on Shendao cultivation? The body cultivation video was really helpful (I just added whatever what the most rare at first, regardless of unlocking tiers, and didn't get the devouring concept at all. I just thought I needed a toooooooooon of food). Shendao is the other cultivation I'm interested in, but really confused how to go about it

Hi and thank you so much for your kind words! Shendao cultivation is still on my to-do list, I have put the topic away for my current run cause I wanted to focus on Xiandao cultivators first. "One topic at a time" was a helpful strategy for this game so far! So Shendao Tutorial will come, can't say when though sorry!

Lol in 5 minutes you were as far along as I was after several hours. And I'd already lost one of my cultivators - he somehow ate himself to death (got bloated and died). I just don't understand how that happened. And of course it was my one non-Yao Guai. I'd foolishly chosen them because their stats were so good! I also didn't see how to change it, but I see that now... Imma start over.

Oh, don't worry about being slow. When I played ACS the first time it took me ages to get somewhere - the game is really good at overwhelming new players. I only managed to kill people with food when I manually assigned them to eat stuff - they can only digest so and so much ^^

Will my guys cook their food themselves or do I need to queue it in the kitchen ? They are unhappy because of eating uncooked food, yet i have meat and water in storage....

As long as somebody has the cook job assigned, they will cook food according to the sects preferred meal (Sect configuration menu) as long as there are enough ingredients to cook with. Probably you have nobody on a high enough cooking priority is what I would assume as the most possible culprit

First Edit* Watching the Yaoguai section, and last I check, they have similar average stats or better by a couple of points to human but their skill limit (like the artifact mastery, spells and such) is higher, hence why they are considered better but could be wrong though. For the rooms, my outer disciples are fairly satisfied with a 3 by 3 room with just a bed, display and then a light source but could just be me not paying too much attention to them as I don't really see any complaints about it.

Hey! Yaoguai tend to have way higher base stats than mortals - a very high constitution (8-10) makes a massive difference in terms of movement speed alone. I've been very surprised about how much difference these few points made, but they do ^^ And yeah, small rooms are good! The larger a room, the more furniture the people "expect" to be happy with it. The game wants a certain % of the room filled with furniture to declare it somewhat comfy. So not too much, not too less - this makes small rooms way easier to balance out.

@@Ic0nGaming I know that stats have a large effect but I was saying is gap between the normal human base stat and the standard yaoguai (aka not min max 5 day transformation tribulation version) is not that huge, though that could just be me getting screwed by rng since I still haven't raised one from awakening and mostly just grab them when I am starting the sect out.

@@kyleauthinus7517 Oh well, I only had a Bull Yaoguai once with high Constitution basically being a race car while hauling and a Tiger one which was just a combat machine 1v3ing mortals with ease. That's how I came to my conclusions ^^
