Tom, thank you for staying with this series. I’ve only owned my 7100 for six months and each time I think I know it, you prove to me there’s still more. Great radio, great instruction!

Thank you Tom. I've been watching this series of the IC 7100 for a while now, even before I recently purchased a IC 7100 because I knew that was the one I wanted for mobile to portable base use. Haven't had a chance to set it up yet but your videos are helpful in explaining what needs to be done.

Now I know why when I tune off frequency from a repeater memory channel and come back to it, I can't bring up the repeater. Thanks, Tom, for solving the mystery for me.

Most of the time, after changing parameters in Memory mode, I use memory pad (MPAD) feature. If I am satisfied with the changes, I save it back to memory. If we want to set beck to the original state after changes, I push Up and then DOwn keys on the PTT handset. To prevent accidental changes, use 'LOCK' feature, or tighten the dial knob. Thank you. 73

Still chasing QRM in the Cummins here. 🤬 Thinking it’s either the electronic accelerator (PWM circuit), or something to do with the injection pump.

The electronic fuel injectors make a noise that's pretty similar to spark plug noise. I have it too. I find it's worse on lower bands (40 & 80). Since those bands are not as great on mobile anyway, I mostly operate on 20 and up when mobile.

@@HamRadioA2Z It’s odd. Idling the noise is S8. Down the highway, S8. Coasting or going downhill - foot off the pedal… clear.

Yep. When the engine is coasting, the injectors aren't firing at all because no fuel is going to the engine.
