I have a couple of these around my house. They do a good job of boosting signals in hard-to-reach locations. I used one in my garage to connect ONLY my garage door opener and the other near the front door for the Ring Camera. I try not to connect other devices to them so they perform to the maximum for the dedicated connections I want them for.

I recently bought 5 of these exact same model ... no problems at all ... can now get a good wifi connection in my garage, back patio, bedrooms etc. Of course you should have relatively good speed to start with, allowing for the drop in performance 8/10

Please help! I think I am doing something wrong. It doesn't come up as a wifi location for me to connect to, do you think I have a broken one? I just can't connect to it! So then when I type in the IP address, it just keeps saying "This site can't be reached". Feeling so frustrated! THANKS!

I’m wondering if you have a duff one? I have literally just taken delivery of this last night and had no issues with it. I bought it in readiness to connect to the Phillips Hue Bridge which is due later. To save the bridge getting mucky in hubby’s ‘man cave’. I want to use it upstairs underneath my computer desk. It is currently plugged in and I’ve ran my iPhone, iPad and MacBook from it downstairs with no problems. Yes it feels plasticky, but there is nothing exposed or coming away. I will update after the Bridge arrives and I do some more tests; but so far I haven’t had any issues.

Small throughput like the Philips bridge will be fine. Running a streaming TV off it, or online games won't be great.

@@freename at the moment the Bridge won’t even connect to the router; the second one I’ve bought/tried. Guess the whole system will have to go back as I want it for settings ‘away from home.’ I know it’s not the extender as I’ve connected other items to it with no issues.

So got one of those for my place as for strange reason my wifi cannot make it to 2nd floor which is just above the internet box ( and tv/dvd cannot connect to it) ...what are you suggesting? plug direct to internet portal and hope it will allowed tv to connect, or plug in outlet on the 2nd floor and Ethernet with cable from the booster to tv?

If you use a laptop or a phone in the same location on the 2nd floor do those also struggle to connect? What construction is the floor or wall between the problem location and your main broadband router?

@@freename my phone have no problem, but my tv and bluray doesn't connect properly ( that say my bluray is 10yrs old so it could be the chip) as for my internet service it is a modem high speed fiber deliver with Cogeco (canadian company for cable/internet). The floor between 1st and 2nd have a gap of a foot in between (drop ceiling). Originally thought was my modem, but had the rep coming to check it out and he doesn't understand why signal isn't stable for smart tv/ bluray to stay connected or recognize a wifi addy.

Good Afternoon sir, i have a ps5 console. Is it best to use AP mode to use the ethernet cable or wireless? People say to use ethernet Cable better for my ps5.

Always use a cable where possible for better speed, reliability and lowest ping.

Depends so much on house layout, wall thickness etc. If you do go for one, make sure you get it from somewhere you can send it back for a full refund (and where the return address is your own country; sometimes the companies selling these demand you return them to China!).

It should just automatically do it if your main wifi network is WPA2.

Yes, but it won't be very good.. its not good as an extender, it will be worse as a router :)

Not much you can other than move it closer to the main router. You don't want it too far away otherwise it's going to be repeating a poor signal making it worse. It needs to be somewhere closer to the router where there's good speeds so it repeats the good signal further.

Yes but look at WiFi mesh stuff instead like Netgear or tp link stuff. The wifitron is bad.

My honest suggestion is to return it for a refund and get some decent Wifi mesh equipment. (TP-link deco, mercusys h70x or better, netgear orbi etc.)

Hi is anyone able to HELP me please! This 'extender' uses 192.168.11.1 as it's default IP address. Unfortunately, my internet router has a different address range (192.168.0.1 -) .. Since there is no way of changing either, i am basically stuck, since these networks can't see each other.. rendering tHis device is totally useless, .. is anybody else experiencing this issue?

In repeater mode that shouldn't be an issue. Once you've set it up correctly to connect to your main network any device you connect to the repeaters WiFi network should still obtain an IP from the main router. In the example in my video the main router would have been on 192.168.1.1 but the initial setup on the booster was done via the 192.168.11.1 - after setup is complete I still have internet via the main router on 192.168.1.1

@@freename Thank you so much for your response. My device IS getting an IP from the router, but once it's connected to the 'extended wifi', there is no internet access. If i connect the same phone directly to the main wifi router, everything works fine. i thought it was due to this address issue, but apparently i have another problem here that i cant make head or tails of.

Send it back asap. It's really not great. Get a decent Wireless Mesh system. It will cost more but will be quicker and more reliable. Something like TP Link Deco, Mercusys Halo or Linksys Velop

Use a real computer, trying to set this thing up using a phone or tablet is probably very difficult.

That IP only works when the WiFi booster is in factory default mode and you connect to its default WiFi name.
