Michael was so underrated as a bass player. I read the band made him feel like he didn't deserve to be in the band, that he didn't deserve equal songwriting credits. If you go back and listen to the first five albums there is some great playing there. He was so loyal ro them, even during the years they weren't doing anything, and they didn't want him to play bass for them during the '94 reunion. Hagar had to insist he be there and even then he wasn't paid as an equal member. Shameful.

Without Eddie us guitarists wouldn't have wax potted pickups, ball end guitar strings or the locking tremolo (Eddie had a patent on this in 1986) later licensed by Floyd Rose.
@Notes-From-Underground6619 күн бұрын
@@lonnybrooks3937 Kahler and Fender both had their own locking tremolo systems. Kahler was actually the first one to appear on the market. The springs for the Kahler system were upfront within the system allowing more wood to remain in the body; in theory, more body mass better sound! Kahler’s did have their on set of problems and lost much of there market share. Fender’s tremolo system was built to guitar god Jeff Beck’s specifications. A tremolo locking system with a floating bridge of over a octave with a two step bar. At first a Wilkerson nut was used but Jeff had an binding problem so it was replaced with a variation of the Wilkerson nut and roller bearings. In the 1960’s Jeff was using banjo strings because some guitar strings were still sold whined and not offered as a single wired. Well, we can thank Beck for that. We can thank Jeff for the pinched harmonics because he invented them; now they are so ubiquitous in almost every players style.

Finally another VH fan who gets why we all listen to VH! It's about what Edward did, not about who's singing. VH3 has some wicked playing, Dirty Water Dog is a ripper. Edwards tapping was cute but repetitive, his rhythm playing in and around Alex's beats, that's where he was in a league of his own.

If this had been on an album just as it is, I wouldn't have been disappointed.

Seriously, I wish they'd done some instrumental albums of stuff like this. It would have been hugely successful.

I've been listening to this on a loop, over and over. It's so amazing, so beautiful, the drums & guitar are incredible. Thankful that we have this. It's perfect as it is, without vocals.
