21:40 I think it's very telling that when Jerry is holding Jeanette like that, you can tell they're both comfortable and just playing around. That's the kind of interaction that I would have with my older siblings, or what I would now do to my younger relatives. But when Dan gets near Jeanette or any of the other young cast members, they tense up and try to get away. You don't just act like that for no reason, especially when you're clearly comfortable around other adults. I feel so awful for all of these kids and what they must have gone through, and I hope that Dan's actions are fully brought to light and that he suffers the consequences. I hope the actors are all doing as well as they can now :( (also to answer your question about Jerry's age, he IS a lot older than everyone else! I think once he asked his mom but all the other times he asked Gibby. I don't think Gibby was being creepy, obviously the writers were and the young characters just wanted to have fun but I'm of the strong belief that if a kid is around anyone who isn't family, doctors or doesn't take care of them, they shouldn't take any piece of clothing off, even their socks

I respect Jeannette for not going back as well. Considering everything she went through, the reasons she had to act, and the possible eating disorder triggers that may come back, it makes sense not to. But to say,” Unlike all the other cast members, she had the guts to value herself enough to not be in pain again,” that rubs me the wrong way. Not the bit about saying she has guts, but the implication that makes about the other cast members. So the other cast members don’t have guts? The other cast members don’t value themselves and are in pain? You don’t know that. Dan Schneider is no longer working there on the reboot as far as I know, so why should the returning cast members be in pain? I get if it brings back bad memories, but they can say no, and I would be happy with their decision.
@ChiakiHatori3 жыл бұрын
@@user-sf9gs2pg1b Most actors value money more than themselves, the cast was shown on numerous occasions to feel uncomfortable and bad around Schneider. Even if he's not on the Set for the reboot, it's something that always happens somewhere and you can bet that not everyone from around that time has left the studio and returned to work on the reboot. It's not that they don't value themselves at all but it makes Jennettes decision all the more respectful, she knew that Schneider wouldn't be around but it's the memories and overall bad experiences that lead to her decision.

As a former teacher who has worked with kids and teens for a long time, you can absolutely tell that these teens feel extremely uncomfortable when confronted by Dan. The things that Dan is doing and saying to them might actually be arguably normal and even funny, if they were being done by a safe adult who the kids respected. I’m not condoning his weird questions and touching of course, but my point is that I have totally asked my young family members things like “who would get eaten first” scenarios, and it’s always funny and everyone is laughing. Because Dan is so emotionally abusive and creepy, this situation that could have been funny, was actually really scary for these kiddos. You can see their uncertain, awkward smiles where their joy should have been. It’s so disgusting

Horrifying!! When my older son was younger, I was approached on more than one occasion to put him into the modeling/acting world. I couldn't and wouldn't. He was upset with me for a bit, but I know he now understands my reasoning. Aside from wanting him to have a normal childhood (myself being a child of the 80s can name many child stars who's fall from grace was heartbreaking), I also take my role as my children's protector extremely seriously. The people who do these things to these kids are deplorable and, in my sincere opinion, the parents who allow it, to simply reap the benefits of fame and fortune are equally as bad. I'd live in a cardboard box before I let anyone take advantage of my kids, it's blood money...point blank. Yes, there are the rare occasions where these things don't happen, of course, but when you thrust your child/children into this "world", it's truly like playing Russian roulette...no thank you.

That one question "if [everyone] were stuck on a deserted island, who would get eaten first" and Dan's response did not sit well with me. First that was a creepy question and Jerry and Miranda weren't afraid to show it. Honestly, I would like to know what Miranda was thinking just after he asked Jerry because obviously her mind was going 100 mile an hour taking this all in and it's pretty obvious throughout the interview that the cast members were used to these kinds of questions. Second, the conversation went like: Jerry: Miranda Dan: (Lol, move on; ignore that Jerry is definitely wondering what's going on) Ask Miranda Miranda: Jerry Dan (Lol, move on; ignore that she is taking Jerry's reaction and doubling it) Asks Jeanette Jeanette: Nathan Dan (to Nathan): Be happy that you didn't hear what Jeanette just said. I was literally just shocked. He couldn't have made it more obvious how he feels about Jeanette. He didn't say a word about Jerry or Miranda's answer but he was super sarcastic and mean about Jeanette's and then later went on to lie about her response. Also, I would like to know what Miranda & Jerry said over on the side when Dan told them to "knock it off." Also (I promise I'm almost done dissecting this)😅, Jerry and Miranda both answered with very forced answers. Now, I know that this is a strange question that you would wake up thinking about (unless you're Dan Schneider, apparently) but their answers kind of make me wonder if Dan has asked these kinds of questions and made it clear that you will answer these questions no matter how strange the question or answer is.
