Zoe 101, Victorious, Sam and Cat, he’d always notice things and he turned to me one day and said “I think you should watch other things that don’t involve Nickelodeon because this man is very inappropriate to these young girls and the things he makes them do on the shows are creepy. I don’t want you to feel like things like this are normal. I don’t know how they get away with this on tv but as a grown man and as a father, it’s wrong.”

My former boss turned out to be a child predator, and I was 16 when I worked with him. He was always perfectly lovely and professional. I never felt endangered or uncomfortable and we worked together alone a lot. Predators have types and can gravitate towards different children. I always loved Josh and thought he was adorable, but the obvious answer to "why Drake and not Josh" is that Josh wasn't conventionally attractive until he was older, and by that point he was successful enough that they wouldn't be able to leverage anything against him to force him to do something he didn't want to do. Also, my understanding from interviews he's done throughout the years is that his mother was very much involved and didn't just toss him to the wolves as a lot of parents of child stars do.
@millymilly82642 жыл бұрын
Drake is not attractive either I always thought Josh was better looking than him
@caitlinobrien38282 жыл бұрын
@@millymilly8264 I agree - I thought Drake was average looking at the start, and it was clear before D&J even ended that he'd be one of those child stars that doesn't age all that gracefully. What I meant was that the creeps in power at the network/production company thought he was conventionally attractive, hence his character being written as the attractive rocker dude, while they clearly viewed Josh as the "fat funny friend". Josh was a cute kid, and I definitely think most girls I knew liked him better than Drake. He was successful because of his raw talent, his exceptional comedic timing, and his personality. Drake was successful because he had a look that the creeps liked and because he had great on screen chemistry with one of their top stars of the time (Amanda)... But Amanda was talented enough that she could probably act like there was chemistry with a costar even if there really wasn't. So yeah, by pretty much every metric I preferred Josh as well.

There’s no way we, or anybody that doesn’t know them personally, should or could even be able to insinuate that they have any sort of mental illness. Not to mention if you don’t have a degree, even if you did, you don’t have consent to diagnose her. And if you’re gonna say “I wasn’t trying to diagnose her, it’s just my opinion”, just don’t. It’s not anybody’s place to have an “opinion” on the specifics of her mental health, unless you are her doctor. You wouldn’t see someone overweight and make an assumption and say “it seems like they developed diabetes” (because that would be rude, right?) so don’t insinuate that just because she has dissociative tendencies that she has any specific specific mental illness. It’s just not your place.

DID only happens when you're really really young, like toddler young. It has to be before you develop your own personality, the consistent trauma then means that when you do develop your personality, it is fragmented into categories such as protector, host, etc, in order to survive the abuse.

And it never goes away. You just get used to having 2 people in your mind switching between them depending on the situation. I was r*ped for the first time at age 4. I didn't remember any of the experiences until the first time I had sex. Then the memories flooded back. My bf at the time always r*ped me and because he was my first I thought that I had to do whatever he wanted even if I didn't want to. I am 30 now. I still have those moments where my mind tells me I have to do it even if I don't want to. During the situations I would just check out until it was done then I go to the bathroom and cry afterwards when I check back in. One of the kids has DID, which is EXTREMELY hard to diagnosed, but usually developed after the person has experience a traumatic experience like some form of sever abuse, human trafficking, etc. but the way she acts and describes how she would get through her day on set or with signing contracts is almost to the T what this child I work with does. It's sad to see someone going through this, specially when you know how someone develops DID. Amanda's parents are straight up scumbags for what they allowed her to go through all so they could live a life of luxury. No amount of money is ever worth ruining your child's mind, body, and soul.

As someone with ADHD, I have personally found Adderall to be one of the worst ADHD medications. It is absolutely *not* a “weight loss drug” and should not be given to a child without ADHD under any circumstances. I am absolutely disgusted that not only did her parents ignore the abuse she faced at the hands of perverted adult men, but also the abuse her body and mind faced from being given Adderall by her parents.
@TheNinjaNiky2 жыл бұрын
As someone who doesn't have ADHD but loved Adderall, I agree😂 it is not a drug for kids whatsoever, kids need sleep and it can impede sleep even for those it works for let alone those who it's not for. It's been a good 12 years since my party days, but I don't even remember it effecting my weight or appetite

If a Dr prescribed it for depression one of its other uses then it’s not completely unreasonable, and it was also still a somewhat new drug depending on the year that all happened so might have been the hot cure all and more an issue with doctors and big pharma then her parents. However if it wasn’t through a script then obviously that’s horrible. Not defending anyone here just saying that everyone might be taking issue with the wrong people on this one specific thing. Her parents seem terrible otherwise though.

The fact that parents can just willingly throw their children away to the wolves is probably one of the most despicable things a person can do. Shame on them.

Sounds like she was disassociating :( her parents were drilling into her “you can’t mess up this chance, you are so lucky, don’t ruin it” but failing to actually see the child in front of them struggling. I always wondered about when she accused her dad of abuse then took it back, but it makes SO MUCH SENSE if she was actually talking about Dan. Grooming is all about making the child feel special and adored and heard, so at the beginning Amanda could have clung to Dan as the parent she never had. He was nice to her, he listened to her. Which unfortunately then allowed him clear access to using her how he wanted.

What I find interesting is Dan Schneider also worked on “What I Like About You” which is actually NOT a kid’s show (and I admittedly LOVE that show) but was on the WB/CW for a few years. I haven’t seen anyone mention that yet but I think it’s interesting. He followed Amanda even beyond Nickelodeon.

@@OfficialSTJones Amanda was already naturally gifted. Dan helped launch her career as a teen actress. I truly feel her mental health is affected because Dan hasn't been held accountable for anything he's done. Nickelodeon only paid him off. If you have ADHD, Adderall doesn’t make you hyper. If you don’t have ADHD, it’s like taking speed basically.

@Madeline Rotbart Aw, I’m so sorry. You should look into taking GABA and L-Theanine. I get mine on amazon, they are gummy vitamins from Nature’s Truth for like $15.) I have ADHD and anxiety, this is the only stuff that has ever worked for me with no side effects. Talk to your Dr about it first because you may not want to mix this with certain medications, etc

Adderall and other adhd poisons are the same chemical make up as amphetamines. Prescription speed is extremely addictive and kills hundreds of thousands of people each year. Say no to drugs folks!
@belove93 жыл бұрын
@Madeline Rotbart I was addicted to Adderall for a very long time. My family started drugging me with Ritalin back in the day as a child and that is where my addiction began. It was hell on 🌎 going through the withdrawals but I'm so thankful to be off the suicide pills now and will never in my life touch them again. Did you know that every single version of the DSM was made up by a bunch of psychiatrist who are basically owned by the CIA and big pharma? Psychiatry is a pseudoscience that has no type of scientific measurable test to prove that ANY mental illness is real. Where is the brain scan?? I didn't get 1. Did you?! All I got was suicidal thoughts and addiction. Perhaps you should look in Dr. Peter Breggin and his book about psychiatric drug withdrawals if you are interested in finding out the truth. Much love and light!
@WithBailey3 жыл бұрын
@Madeline Rotbart Read the drug facts that come with your Adderall prescription, they literally say how bad it is, but it’s so long no one reads it, haha. Lightworker is right too, it is highly addictive. Doesn’t matter who you are, you will be addicted physically if taken over a period of time and will experience withdrawals when taken off it. They say the cause of mental illnesses is because of chemical imbalances, but that’s actually just a medical “theory.” It is something they can’t actually test, but they know if they enhance your dopamine (which makes you feel happy) it helps with depression symptoms, for example. Most of our “brain chemicals” actually reside in our gut, so healing your gut is actually something to look into too first and foremost. Especially since you’re getting scabs on your scalp. Your skin is an excretory organ (meaning it eliminates waste and stuff) so when you are reacting to a medication, or foods, etc, it typically comes out in your skin. Also, GMOs and food intolerances are super common these days and cause a lot of mental issues because of the inflammation it causes in your gut.
