First of all.. your voice, it's so relaxing, love it. I started this game not long ago and I'm following most of your steps in this series, apart from burning my starter base to the ground in day 1(don't ask..), everything else is going pretty well and smooth, so..subscribed !! Still love this game myself, and every now and then I attempt it once again, even though my tremors usually get me dead before long. It’s a fun game, I have been playing since they released open world, it’s changed a lot, but in my opinion, all for the better, they’ve been weekly updates for around or over 2 years now. Always fixing bugs. Or adding new content, fine tuning things. And the good news is if they release content/a change, they fix it fast, and at worst like a week later, during the Christmas holiday period. I recommend the game, if it’s interesting to you. Any questions I’m sure he’ll answer them. In his gameplay. Or in a comment. He’s seems pretty cool. Or ask me, or any other veteran player in the comments, I haven’t met an Icarus player that wasn’t pretty cool/helpful.

Interesting series. Now after 500 hours in this game I was thinking of a similar playthrough myself :) It is possible to abandon missions, but you get a 10 minute cooldown until you can take the next quest. Can be worth it if you need to farm something anyway.

FYI the bears won't run out of the mission area. That's also why you see them sprint super fast because they wandered out of the zone and reset.

There s a way to kill a bear without too much effort. Equip bone javelins, while he s charging aim for the head for masive crits, right before the impact just move to the side and go forward, let him go past you, turn around, rince and repeat. Once you get the move, it s very easy, just make sure you are in an area where you ll not be screwed by anything blocking your dodge moves. Works on polar bears as well, I almost never get hit. Bears are a very good source of fur, meat and XP. I would lie I I said I never died like a fool, but it is well worth it to kill any bear you come across. Poor Teddy.

getting some wayfarer armour there was great because you now need just one level to research the 4 missing pieces instead of 2

One thing that would be helpful is actually saying what you are picking. Im listening/watching while doing dishes and i have no idea what you were picking. I sometimes engage with youtube like audiobooks/podcasts. I know i can rewind and see for myself. You did ask if there might be suggestions for enhancing your presentation, and I thought I'd throw that one in. Im having fun watching your plythrough. I just hit level 12. Im a cave dweller, so i get the herbalism bench and mortar\pestle sooner so i can get the antibiotics and poison protection earlier. I like how our playstyles dictate our tech path!

Ah, lightning storms! the bane of my icarus existence! i can proudly say i got both lighting storm achievements in the same very first run i ever did. those, plus all the trees around my base burning down made me realize how dangerous storms truely are in the game. coming from games like conan exiles and the forest, where storms are just ambiente, this game was an... interessting change to say the least.

This may be a little late but when you're fighting bears, you can strafe to the side while attacking with a knife to avoid damage. Think of it like a matador dodging a bull. I've also done this with arrows as well with great success.

Bear is the easiest to kill. When it charges you slice its face and sidestep. You never get hit.

bear and can be side steped and stab to death. Jags are the hardest things to kill altho I have not play the new area.

Would the stacked chest be considered "Sheltered" if you built a second story on the shack?

I think the sheltered issue was due to it being on the same level as the open window. If I had window shutters it would likely not be an issue

Oh man that sounds awful. I have been struck by lightning multiple times, but believe it or not I've never had a wooden building burnt down by lightning yet (knock on wood)

Does jumping make you run faster? Trying to see why you take that skill so you can jump while running.

The plyometrics skill makes you spend way less stamina from jumping. While you are airborne from a jump, you move at the same speed as your sprint but your stamina doesn't go down at all and can even go up if you're airborne long enough. With maxed plyometrics you can essentially move at sprint speed infinitely by spam jumping.

@@dannyrothko I get it. Thanks. I've got all my speed boost done but was holding off till I understood that one. I do run down on Stamina on long runs and have to walk a bit even with good stam food buffs.

@@dannyrothko I would add that it depends on level of the ground. So it works pretty well going slightly downwards ( watch out though as you can easily break your legs) While going against the slope will limit the bonuses of of that style of travel. In general very useful especially when you master the pathfinding ( which includes jumping on the stones and nodes of resources just to get that extra jump which will regenerate a bit of stamina). And the last point: It works well without any perks for jumping

Yes it was messed up in capture while using window mode. Starting on Prometheus, all of this is fixed.
