You don't need the hammer to reclaim a building piece. Just press Y infront of the item. Also make Oxide Dissolver and Oxygen Bladder for better and longer oxygen usage. Unlock Masonry Bench and Stone Building set. Stone building is more durable in storms and against animal attacks. You need Ranching Station to make Food Trough, Water Trough and Animal Bed to tame and maintain a pet.
