Check out Rising Storm 2. It should be very cheap on Steam. It's also brutal, and pretty hard. Not like COD where you empty a clip on a guy. One shot, maybe two, they're down. There's artillery, helos, etc. I love it, but expect to get pissed off in the beginning.

This map is literally a recreation of the village from the ride of the valkyries scene in Apocalypse now. The huey wreck in the courtyard of the village is the give away.

This reminds me of a really good Vietnam war mod from MoWII:AS, that I can't remember the name of, but it was from the Vietnamese perspective. I remember it started with a hopeless defense of an occupied French embassy, and worked it's way through the war until the American withdrawal. I should go back and find that. It was really well done.

I remember playing a game like this many MANY years ago (maybe 25?) and I hated it because I'd say "attack these enemy forces" and they'd run right past them if I didn't click on the exact enemy and all get killed. I forget the name of it, I only played it for a short time. Same as "patrol" and they'd walk right past enemies and get shot to hell, they wouldn't engage unless I told them too.

As in the mod changes many aspects of the game and has many assets that can increase loading time. The base game is WW2 so anything from the Vietnam era is a mod that the game must load on top of that. It's pretty impressive!
