Great video. You specifically stated that physicians did the coding in the pilot. Please advise if you have expanded to include health information professionals, nurses, or other allied health professionals.

Because Kuwait doesn’t use a DRG system, the codes are used for statistical purposes. Having the ICD codes automatically recorded once the doctor uses the ICD-11 coding tool to record their diagnosis has two benefits in our case: recording the ICD code, and avoiding the use of only free-text for diagnosis documentation which is still a custom in many hospitals. The plan is to have regular coding audits by health information professionals in the future.
