Good topic. But most big hospital have Encoders. But I see that some coders guess and refuse to look up data to understand the medical treatment record. Or only have Encoder and not the manuals....always need this or goggle if have too

A mid-level Windows-based computer will work just fine for medical coding. Look for something reliable that can handle multitasking without lag for the best experience.

If you take the medical billing course though Preppy and pass the CPC exam, are we still receiving the apprenticeship designation?

To not be considered an apprentice coder you need two years of medical coding experience. Preppy coursework will remove one year off your apprentice designation if you submit the paperwork from them. You can also do Practicode to take one year off the apprentice designation.
