I can remember sitting out in the little Karoo on a day like that on a "voorsit jag". One of the most miserable days of my life. A bottle of OBS made me feel a lot better afterwards.

Saw you struggling with the bolt action, Piet. I have a similar problem with my 7mm Win Mag. Suddenly, I got a visual of a possible way to completely rework the concept of the bolt action/eliminate it completely while maintaining body position and basic functionality. Sadly, I'm not a machinist or a 3-D printer specialist. Otherwise, I'd run out to my hypothetical machine shop and make it happen. Maybe MDT would be interested in doing something new/innovative?

i would love to see you tersting a sabatti rifle. it's an italian brend. thebest part is that they produce theyr own rifling, called mmr (multi radial rifling) witch give a lot of advantage: better accuracy, the strong tendence to do not have flyers, easyer to clean, less tendence to became dirty, faster bullet speed (same load) and a barrel life that is supposed to be at least 2.5 time than a traditional barrel. Give it a try, i doubout u will be disappointed
