One ounce gold coins and bars are a much better value than jewelry, and a good way to create generational wealth. Jewelry has insane markup to begin with, and a very limited and volatile resale market. If you really want to help the next generation, buy them land with water rights (even a tiny bit of land), gold coins and silver coins. Don’t buy it if you can’t pay cash for it. The flashy stuff won’t help them. It might even get them killed.
