If I was going to go to the trouble to make home made ice cream, I'd use a regular hand-crank machine that makes a couple of quarts. The gadget being reviewed here is too small to be worth the prep time and cleanup; it looks like it only makes maybe 4 or 5 ounces of finished ice cream. But as always, it was fun to watch Bunny's "performance". Thanks!

I like my ice cream when it's JUST starting to melt, so it's softer, but not 'soupy'... I also think it's fun to 'drink' the melted parts right after taking a spoonful of the un-melted parts. I love having just swallowed the 'lump' ice cream, so to speak, and then 'drinking' some off my spoon right after. I love how the textures mingle and all... I don't like too much to 'drink', though! After a certain point, I'll either stick it back in the fridge/freezer, or give it to my G-pa (He'll eat just about anything... he's the goat of the family... x3 I'm watching Zoo Crafting and this back and forth, letting each load while I watch the other. Anyone who knows about Mud Pie, Dot Dot, and Moo Cow know what I'm talking about, especially when it comes to the Chocopedias!) We did an ice cream lab in my Chemistry class and the only difference about that cup and our lab is that we used a bag. The ice cream we did came out kind of liquidy too but putting it into the freezer would make it like normal ice cream :)

I also did a freezing point depression lab in chem. Our ice cream was actually surprisingly firm though. I think you either could have used more salt or just done it for longer

Damn, am I the only one here in 2022? It's been a terrible year already for me. I lost my 1st dog in February, then my Beardie in May, and today my other dog had to be put down due to cancer. I really don't know what to do, and I just need an escape, and someone to lift my spirit; Bunny has always been able to do that. So, I'm binge watching "does this thing really work". i do this with plastic baggies, its a chemical reaction, the salt and the ice come in contact with the mixture and it raises the freezing point of the mixture.
