I love the sound effect of Mugman slamming his book on the ground! It’s such a classic and hilarious cartoon sound effect and I’m so glad this show uses it as much as it does. Not too often that it’s obnoxious, but just enough in the right places that it’s hilarious. Plus, it’s such an agressive noise! And fitting for the action too! Plus, you can feel the rage coming out of Mugman in that moment! Look at me, analyzing a singular moment of animation and sound design in a cartoon. 😂

It's nice that it got a show, but a shame they didn't keep the Fleischer 1930s-style animation. Back in the day, that was all hand-drawn and would have cost a lot more than doing it on computer the way they do now. I believe the original game was all hand-animated. But would have been nice if they'd made more effort to make it look authentic even if it's just with a filter, and choosing to draw lines differently, with different movement. Ren and Stimpy managed something along the lines of older animation, everything was more fluid. Back then, since they were drawing every frame, they may as well have had every single line moving around wildly, it cost the same, and so they did! The visual charm of the game is what had me nearly buy it, until I realised I hated fast high-skill action games like that. So a cartoon would be a good way to experience it. But they haven't kept the original charming style, it's a shame. Still hopefully the lads behind the game got a load of money out of the deal, they deserve it.
