Two reasons that I can guess. One, Cube was feuding with Ruthless and DOC was Dre’s guy. Two, DOC was the go-to guy for lyrics now that Cube was gone. The DOC was more or less supposed to fill the void that Cube left as the lyricist for NWA. DOC probably felt he was better than Cube and Cube probably felt he was better than DOC. So there was probably some professional jealousy between the two.
