ok, but their technique were amazing, don't be a hater just cause you like meryl and charlie, tessa and scott deserved it as meryl and charlie deserved in 2014. I love tessa and scott, they are the best for me, but i can admit that in Sochi Meryl and Charlie were better. It's ok.

Aline Theodoro I never said that Tessa and Scott didn't have good technique, but I'll stand by my comment about the originality of the Flamenco dance. It has been done over and over for many years while Bollywood was new and fresh. I was referring to the OD, not the entire competition. I'm not hating on T/S. They deserved to win gold in Vancouver just as Meryl and Charlie deserved gold in Sochi.

I struggled with this one for years thinking Virtue and Moir beat out Davis and White simply by home advantage bias, but I concede I was wrong. When the program aired in the U.S., it was shown from different camera angles and it's clear from the the single distance shot her that Virtue and Moir gave the more complicated and best dance.

In spite of the cultural appropriation controversies, I really enjoyed this segment. We got to see many people who got to share their culture in an international stage, many of whom are virtually unknown to the world. This is by far the most diverse segment in all of figure skating and it's a shame it got tarnished because of a few people who were unable to recognise their own limits.

D/W's OD was fantastic no doubt but compared to V/M they don't skate as closely together, their edges are a shorter and choppier, their handholds aren't as soft and fluid, and they don't pay as close attention to their free legs (although they've improved upon that in recent years). And I thought V/M's choreography was more demanding and challenging. Yes the flamenco has done many times before but the judges have to rewards superior skating which they did.

DorEnErnil I remembered clearly in the gpf that I was entranced by their Bollywood program and from memory, I believed they skated better than v/m there. However, here i agree that it’s clear V/M out skated the field in the OD (and FD) even with my biases love for the novelty of Davis/White’s program considered. D/W also look a little more nervous too throughout the competition.

I would have placed Virtue/Moir first overall for the Olympic gold, but for me, the winner of the Original dance was Davis/White. These two teams are so even in talent it's almost impossible to judge, but the Canadians earned the gold for sure.

surely řessa and scott were the best, but the kerrs syblings from UK were great too and definietely the hungarian couple with czardash dance. Ukrainians zadoroshniuk and verbillo were also my favorite. also french natalie pechalat and fabio bourzat were far more better than the russians performing australian aboriginal dance- but i respect that they choose that dance so different from their coulture, but there was definitely a strong deficit of difficult figures. The americans with country dance did not impress me at all.

I'd like to see an "Irish dance" routine (outside of actual Irish dance, that is) NOT be completely inspired by Riverdance or Lord of the Dance. There's other Irish music and costumes could be solo dresses like those worn in competition. And you could do something like a 2-hand reel. It'd be great.

it's a set dance pattern based on steps and characteristics of ballroom dances that the skaters have to perform. every skater will skate the same pattern and follow the same steps and leg extensions and direction on the ice. it's a way for the judges to actually see and compare the teams and see who has good clean edges and can skate controlled across the rink.
