The law that makes children born in the US automatic citizens needs to be changed. It was put in place for immigrants (that came here legally) and were going through the citizenship process. Didn't have to worry about their kids not being citizens, and having to go through the process they did. It became a loophole that illegals exploited to come here to have their babies.

There is likely more to this story than meets the eye. Just because babies are born in the U.S. does not make them citizens since the mother was not a U.S. citizen and that is per U.S. law. Let's also not forget the thousands of illegal military age men still in the country.

That's incorrect. The US has birth right citizenship, therefor anyone born on US soil is a US citizen by birth with the only exceptions being for diplomats as their children born on US soil are citizens of their home country, just the same as it is for US diplomats or overseas military Fourteenth Amendment, Section 1: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.

She is married to a citizen and was going through the legal process properly. It would be stupid to expect spouses to remain in other countries separate from their family. She did nothing wrong except miss a hearing due to bad timing with a surgery, and they called to inform the court and reschedule like responsible people.
