Just a few of the things I have learned so far ice fishing for perch. They are an aggressive schooling fish but also not that smart. Most of the time is tricking them into biting.

The "three sided jig" is called a Swedish Pimple made in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Great for walleyes, perch and whitefish.

Swedish pimples are my personal favorite walleye killer and they work anywhere. I have so many I should own stock in the company. LMAO 😆. Tight lines brother 👊

My only tip for you would be see if your spring bobber is able to be (tuned) or retracted and make it LESS bent like it is now and then you have better sensitivity of the fish biting cause the spring bobber is less loaded !!!! good video

Where I'm at no limit on hooks per line. I run 5 or 6 using a t knot with various jigs colors etc and zone in on what they want. When you figure it out I nail them 3 or more at a time....

@@BendItFishing if you use a t knot it sucks it out better then using a 3 way. With a loop you can attach it or single line but I cut short

Do you ever use a swivel on the line to keep the jig from spinning?

If I am fishing really deep I will or going from braid to mono otherwise it's just more knots to tie

@@BendItFishing Ah yes, knots to tie--I am new to sport fishing and ice fishing. I can tie a palomar and a uni knot--though I find it challenging. The reason I asked is I want to know how to avoid having the jig spin on the end of the line when I am ice fishing. Also, I enjoyed viewing your video and subscribed to your channel. I will apply some of the techniques you demonstrated in your video when I get out for some ice fishing for perch later this week.

i never catch anything here. all the fisher here are only targeting pike in 1foot of water near the bank. you say that to fish in the deepest part? it goes to 30ft here. is that alright depth?

You can start there and make a bunch of noise with a lure and pound bottom there will be perch

@@BendItFishing i got a sonar and sometimes i see fish come to my lure/bait they apparently look at it and then go away. do you know what cause this?

@@Francois_Dupont try a different presentation like dead sticking first. If that doesn't work try a smaller size lure even big fish eat small lures. If that doesn't work try different color or some sort of scent on it like worms or fish eyes or something

@@BendItFishing thank you for the tips. sadly we cant buy anything in stores now. i tried to buy a pair of winter boots 3days ago~ when it was -20C outside and they refused to sell them because of the new virus laws. basically in Quebec you cant buy anything except food, soaps and medicines anymore. enjoy your freedoms before its too late.
