If you're going to release the fish from those depths you really should be reeling them up slower as you can give them the Benz just like drivers get. If you don't believe me you can look it up. Great fishing thou

Lake trout have the ability to burp air on the way up and very rarely get the Benz

It does help to burp them with hands and on release hold the tail with head in hole until the fish strengthens and swims off on its own.
