It was crazy lol. They actually get darker the longer they spend inland. They need to stay out deep to keep the color

I would love to catch steelhead and cohos through the ice that would be awesome I’m surprised you don’t drill three holes in a triangle shape so it makes it easier to land them

That was the lake effect pannie stopper ultra light rod. I only run 4 lb berkley micro ice. Man the ghost does a great job with the big fish

And put tip up line on ur tip up.u see all the memory in that line from running straight line.use tip up line and just put a leader on it.
@LTOutdoors15 Жыл бұрын
I won't use tip up line on my windlass tip ups, that's not how they're supposed to be used. The only reason memory was that bad is Because it wasn't ice line. I catch plenty of fish bud

Thanks!! I'm actually loving the black Betty drag, I wasnt sure if I would like it but its handling well, I even caught a 31 inch pike 2 days ago on that 4 on test
@icywolfboy182lol213 күн бұрын
@@LTOutdoors15 Is that the line you recommended for jigging for them? It seems like it would break for how big of fish they are lol. Just asking because it’s my first time doing this
@LTOutdoors1513 күн бұрын
@icywolfboy182lol2 yes I actually like using 4 lb test for them. I always have my drag set good so they can peel out though. They can be line shy so I think its important to use light line.
@icywolfboy182lol213 күн бұрын

I've actually caught a bunch of fish with lampreys over the years. Even have a video on here where I grab one out of a creek and it bites onto my hand lol
@oldmanfred86763 жыл бұрын
I think in Portugal they are eaten and are considered a “Delicatessen” as a guy I knew used to say!
@markpetricevic33683 жыл бұрын
Lampreys are trapped and discarded at weirs. They used to get very large and attach to lakers. Thats why lake trout need to be raised and stocked into the great lakes now. Because they swam in from the ocean and arrived in the great lakes in the 1940's. But in europe people have them to eat.
@markmehalko26442 жыл бұрын
Just discovered your show a few months ago. Very educational & enjoyable. I honestly believe it’s better than MOD. You do affordable things that outdoor people can do. Do you walk to your locations or use a machine. Especially curious about the salmon on the east side of the state . Keep up the great work.

Curious why on that size and species of fish you can't sneak up to 6 or 8 lb test for a quicker fight to keep the fish healthier and to not have to worry as much about break offs and bite offs
@LTOutdoors153 жыл бұрын
Why would I want to? It's all about the fight anyway, kinda like shooting a deer, the experience is the fun part. I would much rather have a good fight than try to horse any fish. Not to mention on those little tungsten jigs you don't dare pull much. I use 4 lb test for everything through the ice and always catch great fish
