I've used Josh Teigen's guide service twice on chequamegon bay. Great guide, and a good guy. I highly recommend it.

I had the privilege of fishing with Jim Hudson quite a few years ago. The Big Lake claimed him a few years ago. When these guys talk about taking care - no joke. The best damn guide to ever fish the area died between Red Cliff and Madeline Island. Awesome, awesome area - but if you haven’t been here? Hire a local guide. Even in the bay.

Thanks! Your video was not only entertaining, but informative. Having never been up there I wasn't sure what to look for. I kinda rediscovered ice fishing this year and have really enjoyed the time on the lake. Been hitting places I don't typically fish in the summer. Combined with my love of winter camping, it's been a blast. If this first trip goes well I want to bring up my wife and kids.

There is great ice fishing opportunities in the bay, just be real diligent about checking ice as that can change daily. Good luck!

I am hoping to make it up to the Washburn area the very beginning of February. Looks like our cold snap should be over by then.

How far off the bottom were you guys setting your tip ups on Chequamegon Bay for splake and browns? Do you set your shiners just off bottom like you would a walleye? Or are the fish suspended halfway between the surface and bottom? Whats a good general rule for up there for the less than 30 feet of water bite? Thanks! Love the show!
@JasonMitchellOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
+tercelfish00 we set them 2-4 feet off the bottom. Thanks for watching!

Fish population has declined significantly over the last 4 years ,lots of these types of videos takes days to tape only to get a few fish ,the lisences great lake stamp very expensive when your are lucky to catch 1 fish in 3 days,commercial fishing harvesting 1000s of pounds of fish including spawning ones are ruining sport fishing, call your senators, governors office and tell them NO MORE commercial fishing on lake superior.
@JasonMitchellOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Can’t speak about the commercial aspect but can tell you this show didn’t take several days. We basically filmed an enjoyable day of fishing and used one extra day to film underwater and scenic shots.
