I got rid of my addiction. I still take a cig or two when I'm out fishing but that's about it. I get to enjoy it when it is the best it can be, with a coffee in the forest, and then I put it away. Everything in moderation. I hope when summer approaches you pick up the Kokkaffe Diaries again, those are my favourites ❤️ (after the big trips)

A friend once gave me an apt description for nicotine addiction: "All we do when we smoke is alleviate a discomfort we in the first place created and help maintain. It's like pinching yourself constantly just to experience the relief of no longer being pinched" I haven't been a smoker for many years now. A fun fact about nicotine, your brain continuously creates more receptors, the same way with any addiction, which is why we crave more the more we use. The interesting thing about nicotine is those receptors never die, they just hibernate. So even if 10 years go by and you have one evening when you decide to take a drag of a smoke or a pouch of snus, all the receptors wake right back up, and it's like you never stopped. That is why the saying "A drag away from a pack a day" is so accurate. I believe in you Rolf. You'll beat it.

Absolutely love your videos man! Just beautifully done artwork. Besides that I fish, skateboard, snowboard, I‘m a musician, I love nature, I‘m studying bats, I like to ask questions about life and I love northern Europe. So I couldn‘t ask for more. Tack.

I stopped a two pack a day smoking habit 44 years ago. I am grateful I stopped I have a better quality of life for having quit. No more nicotine stained fingers, no more car and house smelling of cigarette smoke. Lungs that enjoy fresh air and carry me long distances to hike and fish. You won’t regret stopping in fact you will be happy you broke the addiction.

my addictions taught me a lesson of small victories appreciation - one day, or even one hour being free and not falling back is already a small, but undisputable victory. keep it up, bro! and that "ice fishing is not an activity" line made me really happy, I laughed out loud :)

I got rid of two terrible addictions. Outside the community of people with the same problem, my family helped me because they did not give me the comfort to prolong my life with addictions. The second thing that makes me "free" is not making big plans, but repeating every morning resolution not to get "sick" in the next 24 hours. Unfortunately, I also had to stop fishing... YOU ARE A MASTER OF FILM EDITING - and these out-of-focus moments - WONDERFUL!!!Thank you 🐟

"Ice fishing is not really an activity, it's a way to spend time until spring arrives", lät lite som John Lennons (tror jag) gamla citat "Life is what happens to you while you are busy doing other plans". Världsklass! Även om jag råkar tycka att pimpelfiske också är jäkligt roligt, precis som alla andra former av fiske. Hade varit enklare utrustningsmässigt om man bara hade en sorts fiske att syssla med.

Sincerely enjoy every film that you post. I’m trying to recall if you have posted a video on your trip to Halford’s section of the River Test? I was able to catch a native brown on a section of the test on a mayfly pattern during a small mayfly hatch last summer, and was told by an old Englishman, “it’s all downhill from here for ya”. I will go search your channel now for that, although I do think I remember one that included the book “dry flies and how to use them” or something like that and a very unfortunate event including bamboo and a tree and not “minding the rod”. Maybe I am thinking of another, anyways thanks for posting! God bless you and your family, Rolf.
