love this build since day 1... ice gauntlet one of the items that can solo healers if you use the build in this video. the only difference I have is ice tomb is maxed out instead of the frost stun line thing so i can remove all debuffs and heal inside of ice tomb easy bc i play for war mostly. I run medium gear with 50% int 50% con, gives around 13k hp and strong heavy atks inside storm do up to 2k per hit. the only weakness is high dex bow and musket in light if you cant close the gap.. great video

Definitely going to try this. Right now I'm running IG/Spear with Vault Kick, Sweep and Cyclone. I put 50 into Dex too to get that first node's crit chance. Nobody expects it. I'd love to hear/see your thoughts on it's potential. At the moment it's hamstrung by the fact that ice storm cancels on weapon swap (due to bug with punishing storm perk), but when that's fixed I think there will be super strong synergy between the slows/roots of IG and the Exploited Weakness perk in the spear line (which gives +10% per debuff on target to a max of +30%). When I drop ice storm I almost always get at least 3 debuffs on the enemy which would hopefully proc Exploited Weakness. Again, difficult to know given it's currently bugged, but maybe a build to keep your eye on.

That sounds epic. Spear is one of the weapons I haven't put much time into yet but definitely want to soon. I was so glad to find out that the ice storm cancel was a bug and not as intended lol, I think that will really open stuff up for other weapon pairings with IG like this

I'm also using that build for now on a new character. But I'm a huge fan of the Ice Spike ability instead of the storm, and its potential to oneshot if you hit the big spike. I think it pairs well with the hammer CC, makes it really easy to hit. I used to oneshot people with it pre nerf, idk how's the damage now.

Ya this was before the 1.1 changes, now that you can't chain root with IG anymore I think trying some different looks like Ice Spike could be really fun. Also now that Ice Storm doesn't go away when you switch weapons, could be good to throw up storm then switch to hammer so the ice half of your hammer will be benefitting from the 25% bonus ice dmg from ultimate chill for 3 seconds

i've been running similar build in hopes of finding the best battlemage setup with fire staff for a week now. works really well. it's similar to this build, u just try to set up incinerate with warhammer stun. seems like more and more people are noticing the utility of warhammer for battlemage builds lol.

I’ve got heavy full voidbent which allows full const which allows more point distribution to say I tell or whatever stat really, so would this build work with that armor set?

Ya I think it could, keep in mind the dmg of the Ice Gauntlet one shot combo shown in this fell off quite a bit from the 1.1 patch changes since you can't chain root anymore. I think that armor set could definitely work but it will be more focused on survivability and cc than on dmg, I think in pve it will be solid but in pvp you might find it challenging to secure kills in the 1v1. Could still be really good for group pvp like wars / OPR still if you are playing a cc / tank role

Ya I think heavy can work for sure, at lvl 60 I would probably go 200 CON to get max value out of the attribute perks with heavy and then push everything else from there into INT to push dmg scaling as high as possible. IG changed since I made this vid so you can do the root chain anymore - it's a great time to try some other abilities like Ice Spikes or Pylon, also they fixed gauntlet so now you can cast Ice Storm and switch to your other weapon, so if you catch someone in either an ice shower or ice storm you can switch to your hammer and 50% ice dmg from the aquamrine will benefit from the additional 25% ice dmg for 3 seconds from ultimate chill. If you are goin heavy you will be tanky anyways so probably won't need ice tomb as much - I would maybe try dropping tomb for spikes and keeping the shower/storm combo

Honestly mate this build got hit pretty hard by the ice gauntlet changes in my opinion (for pvp specifically). It really revolves around using the hammer to set up the chain root execution, but now that the heavy freeze has a 5s cooldown you can't chain root, and then on top of that they reduced a significant amount of the stacking crit dmg. I tested some weapons this weekend and I can really feel a big difference in the IG burst potential and control with the root & dmg nerfs. I think they went a little overboard with the IG changes, I hope they tune it back a bit. I think they should have either nerfed the dmg or the root chain and it would have been good still but nerfing both at the same time puts it in a rough spot right now. I think if you did want to invest in it still, it could be a really good time to try some different looks where maybe you try using your hammer more for dmg and try using ice gauntlet abilities to set up the hammer to benefit from ultimate chill. Could even be worth tryin like ice pylon and then fighting around that with your hammer. If you are interested in tryin some different weapons, I'd say if ur really attached to the hammer I think pairing it with fire staff or void gauntlet right now could give you similar playstyle to with IG, if you really like the IG then I think trying great axe instead of hammer for the higher dmg off of ultimate chill could be cool

I was playing axe/hatchet until about level 45. I started experimenting with other weapons. I liked the hammer and the gun. I'm not the best at aiming. I might be the worst I hope I get a good glove drop. I want to try this to see if it's worth the commitment. I'm PvE solo only. Survivability is first, but fun is a close second.

It's certainly fun and it felt very strong in pve to me, cool thing about this build is you don't have to be great at aiming the ice gauntlet if you can get the chain root shown at 6:20

Im gonna try this. I really like the hammer, and at first tried to use it with the IG, but thought it was a bad combo. Mind you, I was a level 15 without any game knowledge when decided that. 50 str is not whort getting? Thanks for sharing!

I think if you really like the hammer play and want a little more punch on it the 50 str could be worth trying for sure, it's just that int benefits your ice gauntlet 100% and your hammer 50%, while str just benefits your hammer 100% and gives nothing to your gauntlet

I honestly love light armor for the dodge roll but everyone keeps telling me it's bad lol and that the 20% dmg it's supposed to give is actually less than that. I haven't had a problem with it though, I usually like playing high mobility glass cannon type in games, I enjoy trying to not get hit while dealing big dmg. Expeditions really just depend on if your tank & healer are good in my experience lol

@@Zikorik Also, if you get the Sundering Shockwave perk, your shockwave that sets up the combo will apply up to a 19% rend for 10 seconds, if you land your Ice shower that's another 10% for 29% rend total... Major damage output increase for your combo. (Rend is multiplicative with Ultimate Chill)

Ya I was running light in this but I think medium could work even better. I show my attributes briefly at 1:26 but I'm mostly int with a little con. I think ideally endgame going like 300 int / 100 con would be a solid split for this build esp in medium. Faction gear pieces are great pickups and you can just change the stats to int/con with the little seals in tier 1 of the faction shop

@@MoraesJr Ya I think it could for sure especially if you are sticking with heavy armor, the con perks really benefit heavy armor the most esp the 200 one. You won't feel quite the same insane 300+ int ice gauntlet burst, but I think you should still have enough dmg to kill most people in the one shot combo shown here

Nah this is definitely viable, I just have many different build ideas I am working on and want to get out there so I will be kinda moving on to the next one after I complete a video for now - definitely planning on revisiting them all at 60 with more of a pvp / endgame pve focus and hopefully making v2 guides
