Rugby (and the NRL) is fun ASF!!!
Forgive my lack of knowledge on jerseys, sometimes I don't recognise the teams :skull:
P.S. I just saw that a game lasts 80 minutes with two 40 halves, it'll be good to know for next time!

With the try at 5:40 the commentators and the coaches and crowd go up so much because it was his first try in his career and he had played 116 games without a try

Good video and love your reactions and interest in everything that's going on. You do know a few bit about it and understand what's going on for someone that hasn't watched much Rublgby League though. FYI there are 2 40 minute halves. If the score is tied at the end there is 10 minutes overtime. The 2 different broadcasters show the time differently though where 1 counts up to 80 and the other counts down from 80 Also those last 2 tries are from the grand final and the Broncos were leading by 16 points with 24 minutes remaining when the Panthers came back and Nathan Cleary scored the try with a couple minutes left to get the Panthers in the lead and to go on and win the game. The Broncos last won a grand final in 2006 and this grand final win was the Panthers 3rd in a row. Most people were hoping for the Broncos to win but the Panthers were just too good again.

Not sure if someone posted already, but games go for 80 minutes = 40 minutes halves. The game that went for 90 minutes was into double overtime. The last game was the grand final, basically last game of play offs/superbowl.

Probably heard this a million times but it’s Rugby League not just “Rugby”. Rugby is for the private schools while League is extremely working class

@@phil5ar league broke off from Rugby in the 1890’s because they wanted to get payed for playing rugby because they were factory workers and miners and if they got injured they couldn’t work. So the Governing body said no so they created the Northern rugby league where they got payed. The Rest Is History

By the way, the excitement over the West Tigers trip was because the guy that scored it. It was his first try in his career.

So the last one was the grand final (like game 7 of the Stanley cup) the game is 80mins long with 40min halves. With the Broncos leading 24-8 with about 20mins to go majority thought the Broncos will win convincingly but Nathan Cleary came up with a master-class to get the Panthers behind by 4 with only 3 minutes to go and scores the game winning try to win the Panthers the championship as the greatest comeback in a grand final and the first team to win 3 straight championships in the professional era. Nathan Cleary has now been considered as the one of the greatest of all time in Rugby League

Thank you for posting this video and for your interest in our sport. Most importantly, pleased do not refer to it as “rugby”, even though we make the mistake of calling it rugby league. It’s a much more dynamic sport than rugby in that it does not stop. Notably, all 13 players do defense and offense, and there is no blocking; you make your own breaks and you have six downs or tackles to score a touchdown or “try”. The first round of matches in 2024 will be held in Las Vegas

That cowbys try against the panthers was in golden point (extra time) so in gold point after the full 80 minutes is up there is two 5 minute halves to possibly find a winner

The rules of NRL are pretty straightforward. The game is played with two teams of 13 players each. The objective is to score more points than the opposing team by carrying, passing, and kicking the ball to score tries, conversions, penalties, and field goals. Each team gets six tackles to advance the ball before they have to hand it over to the other team. Tries are worth 4 points, conversions after a try are worth 2 points, penalties and field goals are worth 2 points each. It's an action-packed sport with lots of strategy and physicality. I get why! To me it will always be Ice hockey, BUT watching the NRL makes me appreciate it more than all other NA sports right now

Rugby league is a very different game to Rugby Union , I prefer union to league.

Unions a great game but it’s no where near where league is, for viewership, talent and fans alike. I really hope union finds its feet again but league is clearly the more entertaining game right now. NRL is the greatest sport to watch and I hope it explodes when they launch rnd 1 in Vegas this year.

It is 4 points for a try - another 2 if you convert it (kick the goal after the try) also 2 for a penalty goal and 1 for a drop kick field goal (or 2 if you kick it from 40m or further out). There is also penalty tries still worth 4 with a conversion kick (where a try wasn't technically scored but there was a professional foul or foul play that the ref believes without, the try would have been scored) and a possible 8 point try for the same thing except the try was scored properly with foul play, then there is an extra penalty kick in front after the conversion kick. The ball can hit the ground as long as it doesn't go forwards (unless you are kicking it).
