This video was perfect. You should commentate on the games. Some Australian Podcasters like Hello Sport do this on KZbin, but don’t show the game and it works really well. You commentate, the viewer listens to you and simultaneously watches the game. It would great to hear the view point of the target market as you are taking in the game for first few times. Your understanding of why they kicked behind the defence was perfect, you obviously have a good strategic mind and could apply that to watching Rugby League (the greatest game of all). I am going to subscribe to you solely because you did such a good review clip.

One of the best things about rugby is that it is truly a team game even players who are not actively supporting the player with the ball have to move into place to be a potential threat forcing their opponents to constantly adapt or leave openings. The team which can pressure their opponents into a weakened formation see the opportunity and as a team switch the direction of their attack quickest will dominate the game. It requires not just physical skills but a high degree of situational awareness and coordination from every player to make a good team. This is what makes the game so fast paced and exciting to watch.
@EamonnReacts7 ай бұрын
Yeah it really reminds me of hockey in that sense. One guy can't win you games you need everyone to come together and all that. Good stuff.
@garyscott32517 ай бұрын
Yep, when you see the full game you can more easily see players getting into position, defences getting tested and then adjusting, and there's an overlap! the winger is away down the sideline, players coming across in cover but there's attacking players in support! @aussieragdoll48407 ай бұрын
The conversion goal is taken in line with where the try is grounded. Sometimes it can be almost in the sideline because the try was grounded just inside the corner. So the skill needed to kick those goals is far greater than for NFL, who only ever take their kicks from directly in front of the goal posts.

The filthy Roosters (Red White and Blue colours, copied from the French), also established in 1908 have only won it 15 times. For the Roosters are forever in Souths shadow. @Reacts Can't call it Rugby. Rugby is Rugby Union. This is one sure fire way to really annoy the hell out of NRL followers. You either call it the NRL which stands for National Rugby League, League or Rugby League. In Australia, we refer to it as the NRL and only call it Rugby League when we need to differentiate between the 4 different versions of football played in Australia - those being NRL, AFL, Soccer and Rugby Union. Because of the potential confusion with Rugby Union, we call Rugby Union, Union and Rugby League, League - leaving out the word Rugby completely.

I doubt many Aussie's will travel to Seppoland for these games. The tickets are too expensive in Australia to go to a game let alone traveling to the US to watch it. I actually believe that the NRL have done the wrong thing & it'll be a waste of money taking 2 games over there. We don't care about NFL & Seppo's don't care about our sports. We're practically the best in the world in most sports except for Union but the Seppo's wouldn't know that coz they don't look beyond their borders
@MattKairl7 ай бұрын
Quite a few are flying over for it. You may be right that it won't create a market for it there but I think there's actually a reasonably good chance of driving some interest as long as this isn't just a one off event and they continue to push rugby league in the US. It's a simple game to understand, fast paced, exciting and I think Americans may appreciate both the physicality and lack of stoppages which plague their sports.

One thing they didn’t mention in the video are penalties and the possible punishments of foul play As you saw in the video of the tackle count restarting if a infringement such as tackling too long Penalty’s : However striping the ball off an attacker with more then 1 person or high tackle or foul play etc will result in a penalty if one occurs the team who received the penalty has 3 options 1. As you saw in the video a penalty goal which is worth 2 points and is kicked where the penalty was called 2. Kick for touch: where the penalty was done the team with the ball can kick for the sideline (into touch) and gain metres upwards of the field to gain free territory you pass the ball from the sideline about 20m in feild tap the ball with your foot and play on 3. Tap: if a team is possibly too close to go for kick for touch or don’t want to go for goal for 2 points they can simply tap the ball on the boot and start play again. Punishment : if an infringement or penalty’s occurs repetitively, or is done in a serious or forceful way that could cause injury 3 things could happen 1. They will be placed on report which the referee will signal a X which they can remain to play however it will be reviewed in the future and could loose game time 2. The sin bin: if the referee believes it was dangerous and doesn’t need review and must be punished the referee will signal 10 fingers in the air 🙌 which means you will be on the sideline and will not play for 10 minutes and leave your team with 12 players on the field instead of 13 which is a great advantage to the other team. 3. Send off : the most highest punishment in the nrl is the send off which the referee will signal a finger and point him off the field which means he will not return for the rest of the game which will leave the team with 12 players instead of 13 for the remainder of the game. Hope this helped let me know if I got anything wrong here

As TV entertainment goes ,a fact that isnt often acknowledged is that American football have thrown away the most fundamental entertainment value of seeing emotion on the face of players. In Rugby, soccer ,AFL and League , we get to see the anger, the exhilaration ,the despair , and all the emotions that come with intense sporting competition. Why ? No helmets. In the NFL there is never any emotion caught in the moment of action because we cant see their faces. At best its a couple of seconds later and its in the faces of the fans,the coaches, the players on the benches. Everywhere but on the field. What a lost opportunity.

For a successful 40-20: - the kicker must be behind his side's 40-metre line when he kicks the ball, - the ball must first hit the ground within the field of play, - the ball must then go over the sidelines of the field of play (into touch) past the opponent's 20-metre line.
