nicely done gotta love those days, like your benton harbor videos i fish there quite frequently. where is this lake? never heard of it...and do you use baitcasters at all?

Thanks. I need to get back on the river again soon. The lake is south of Vicksburg. I don’t use any baitcasters. I just like using spinning gear since I’m just fishing for fun.

Great job, just nice to get out after winter. I have been catching them like that for a couple weeks here in Ohio. First trip water was 39 degrees and smashed them on jerkbaits.

It is nice to get that first trip out on the water after the winter. I would have been satisfied just catching one fish of any size. I’ve heard lots of reports about good fishing all over the place. Glad everyone is finding some fish.

I like the Simms rain gear. This jacket pockets are up higher than most coats which feels weird but they work out fine. The coat is also a little longer than most but it helps keep the rain out. I’d recommend it.

How do you like portage lake in comparison to others with loads of houses on them? My aunt and uncle live on long lake, and when I visit I fish long ,austin, west, sugarloaf, and such the most, I like the look of portage lake a lot, seems to be less pressure on the fish. Would you agree?

I don’t think Portage gets any less pressure than the ones you mentioned. I’ve had good days on all of them except Sugarloaf. There aren’t too many lakes in the area that really stand out as being the best. Austin used to be a bit better than it has been lately and Long seems to be getting a little better than it was. If you haven’t tried Portage before definitely give it a try. Maybe you’ll hit it on a good day.

@@geezersbassin2567 will do, I especially love tub lake, black lake, and another one that I can't remember in that small chain. Accessible for small boats only, we killed it on those lakes, smallmouth largemouth and pike almost every cast

I’ve fished those lakes too but haven’t had a day like that there. Good job. It is a fun chain to explore.
