What a cool phenomenon! The fire is a nice touch, all you need is some chairs, maybe one of those elevated fire holders... Catching a fish through the clear ice would be amazing!

Yeah some people were ice fishing at the fire in the centre of the lake ...a beautiful way to relax!

Wow so beautiful. I have lived in BC all of my life and I am always amazed at the absolute beauty here. There is so much to do and see in all seasons

@@lifeofluke We settled in Mission awhile ago after growing up in a bigger city and there is so much for backcountry stuff to do here. It's a nice city for people that like the outdoors. Lots of lakes and trails. It's really good for kids too. My brother has an adventure channel called BenVentures and he does lots of hiking and camping as well in BC. Every year they go to Elfin Lakes in Squamish with family and the view up there is incredible. I don't know if you have done that hike yet.
@lifeofluke9 ай бұрын
Oh, yeah, nice! I have been up to Elfin once when I did a volunteer day, I didn't make a video about it though, as it is one of the most highly visited spots of this southwestern BC area.

@@lifeofluke Oh yes very busy. Maybe not as much in the winter but would be a more difficult hike then. They went during a heat wave one time and it ended up being unbearably hot and at that time the sleeping shelter was closed. It is one of the more popular hikes though for sure.

Wow ! Magical moment. It brings me back to my youth and playing hockey on the Ottawa River in a year when it was particularly free of snow.

Thanks Bob, memories like those are a treasure to have!

The river was mostly free of obstructions, but one had to beware of the occasional cracks with very slight height differences that caused some to trip like they hit a guy-wire ! @@lifeofluke

Is the lake still skateable or has the snow covered it now? Very nice video, thanks for sharing!
@lifeofluke8 ай бұрын
It's likely snow or rain covered now - this was after there was a very cold and clear weather window

When a child is born in Canada do the parents get to choose what brand of hockey skate is issued by the hospital? Or does one issue Bauer while another issues CCM? Please forgive my ignorance on this topic. Great vid, btw

Hmm, I'm not sure, although I know if they are style conscious parents they choose Graf
