Met this triple Og when I was 18yrs old out all the entertainers I was around at that time, this the only one I got star struck or over whelmed over. Went to take a pic with him then wanted him to sign the letter book my girl at the time used to write to me by the time I got it off the bus and came back out he was way across the street & the police must've told him he couldn't have his Lamborghini parked in the on the side of a busy New York street like that so he jumped in & took off. I was glad I got the pic but disappointed at the same time bout 5-10 min later I'm on the bus I hear somebody say where the young boy that was out here, man I ran out there so fast & to my surprise OG Ice T ready with a pen in hand smh. A true real one & Pioneer of this gangster shit we all fascinated by on all levels! Much respect & love OG!

Tho i never lozt rezpect for ice t. Tho it opened my eyez ta oldschool rap and tha originz ov it and that happened only cuz ice t waz what waz going on at tha time. Like tha guns and dope n street life ice waz spitting knowledge on waz real yet it waznt exactly what rap older headz knew n grew up on. That waz rap. It waz evolving into NWA and what we got today. I alwayz appreciated and enjoyed ice t muzic. I grew up on it. Tho i appreciate what came before it and before them az well. Itz alotta muzic nowadayz that juzt dont grasp me like oldschool do. Ice t alwayz had a grasp on my young mind. Tho ice t waz kool az fck from day 1. I never had an ice t track i didnt like or enjoy. Thatz hard 4 me to say about alotta other entertainers. Geto boys n ice t waz my favorites and ice cube and melle mel. And gmc busy bee. GLP 2pac I could go on tho ill cut it 2short. I alwayz loved all tha oldschool underground ny n mainstream outta all tha burroughs. Wu tang fatboys killarmy mobb deep. Kool g rap. Plenty L.A. n bay area rap i grew up on. Mc8.dj quik....and tha lizt juzt goes on.zo many to name. And ice t alwayz bin at tha top for me.

I've never been a sentimental person but recently I was going through some old car stuff I had boxed up and found 4 of my Ice T cassettes (Rhyme Pays, Power, Freedom of Speech and OG). I have them all on CD too but well after I had switched to CD I held on to my Ice T cassettes, just those 4. I still remember the first time I heard 6 n the morning. I grew up in a rural area of North East Tennessee and I remember the next weekend driving an hour and a half to Knoxville to buy the Rhyme Pays cassette (I was 17). 30 plus years later those songs are still regulars in all of my playlists. I've always believed the line "6 n the morning, police at my door" changed the world but I'm sure some would argue differently but there is no doubt hearing that line for the first time changed my world.
