Interesting how Articuno had Freeze Dry and Aurora Veil before they were moves in the main video games! Also, I always thought it was weird Dewgong's card was an uncommon too. It's moves were good enough for a rare, and I think the art was pretty enough as well for a holo.

I feel like they had to have gone back to the card game for attack names, or used beta attack names for the cards, because there are so many that have turned into official moves

Yeah that is pretty weird. It’s essentially the same as Ice Beam in the card game so I wonder why they changed the name here. Maybe to make Articuno more unique. Now they just need to make Boyfriends a move from the Nidoqueen card.

I have a TCG GB challenge for you: beat the first game without using Trainer cards. Trainers are broken in the Base Sets with being able to play 4 Professor Oaks and Bills per turn and letting Energy Removals fly. As tedious as the second game can get, the first would probably be better. As for something relevant to the video, I used Dewgong a ton as a kid in the TCG GB. 3 energy for 50 damage is great when your opponents aren’t minmaxed with the Energy Removals flying. Teamed it up with Wartortle a lot.
@Paraspectre2 жыл бұрын
I have had a couple requests for no trainer cards. I for sure agree that they can be a bit overpowered, especially with how often I rely on gusties. But I wouldn’t really know what the deck would be, since every Pokémon and energy card would be options.

Captain hindsight here to offer some assistance in any future runs for challenges like this where you need to edit the deck sometimes. Make a copy of the deck and put it into different slots, then edit that one. You could make one that’s just for energy requirements, and one with 4 random Pokémon shoved in or whatever. Makes it a bit easier to switch back and forth. Edit: I think you’d have to make templates and not decks technically, but it would probably still keep things quick in the long run.
@Paraspectre2 жыл бұрын

I wonder what happens with the game when you make a "missingno card" - ie, you try to use a card index that's not got any information in the games database. I'd guess it probably locks up. You can probably patch the crashing if so too but I'm not sure what it'd achieve lol. Still I'd be interested to see what playing a "missingno card" as a pokemon or trainer would use 🤔
