Starfield is horrible. A lot of nothing to do all of the time. To each their own, plenty are happy with nothing and that is exactly what SF offers. Some like a lot to do and that is what HD2 is for. If I wanted to look at space and nothing all day minus time wasting load screens I would go outside, I empathise many of our kind (pc mr) are allergic to outside but I am also not paying for Bethesda to disappoint me with a game that is is as vast and empty as the sky I get free at night outside. I have missed how you think loads of nothing is impressive. In 2015 we had Batman Arkham Knight that was massively impressive graphically and actually had gameplay and more than 3 simple reskins of the same gun. Enlighten me please. I have several crap games I am developing and now realising there is actually an audience that will be happy with all of them as long as it comes from their favourite studio instead of actually being even remotely worth logging into. PS I am a dev only not in western studios so our version of what is decent and quality is very far removed from the ideas of western studios with micro transactions/ hefty pre-order fees and releasing games unfinished for full price while promising things western studios will never deliver , i.e. Activision-Microsoft-Blizzard, Ubisoft, Capcom, Rocksteady. I would name and give further factual examples yet I do realise fanboys do not operate on facts, only gaslights,

I managed to score 12400 something in Superposition 1080P extreme while pulling 380 watts which was on the level of most 6950XTs. Out of the box this card is limited to 272 watts which means a really intensive game like Hellblade 2 throttles GPU clock speeds to around 2350-2400Mhz. Regarding Avatar's use of RT, I think this will be the way it will be implemented in games going forward. At least for this Console/PC hardware generation. Once RTX 4090 like RT performance becomes affordable, then we'll see fully path-traced or aggressive use of RT features combined with traditional raster stuff. But we're probably looking at PS6 maybe PS7 at that point.

@@BrunodeSouzaLino I believe RTX is just a name Nvidia made up for their compute structure thingy they have on their graphics cards. At the end of the day AMD, Intel and Nvidia cards all do DirectX 12 and Vulkan calls that correspond to Ray-Tracing on their respective API's. There's technically nothing stopping a DX12 compliant card from performing Ray-Tracing. It is just super-super slow without specialized hardware on the card itself. I mean most of this technology dates back to the late 90's, where movies did indeed Ray-Trace for dramatically better lighting. It's just that movies don't need to be rendered in real-time and a single Ray-traced scene could take days to render back then.
@BrunodeSouzaLino9 ай бұрын
@@bulutcagdas1071 Without knowledge of how NVIDIA RTX works, there's no way you're gonna make something similar or with similar performance. We don't know if the RT cores in NVIDIA card are just repurposed shader units like in AMD cards or they're specialized hardware which just does RT and nothing else. RTX improvements are not really visible in gaming. RTX gains are much more significant in 3D rendering, where raytracing scenes which would take minutes to render with regular shading units doing RT take seconds with RTX and OptiX.

@PixelShade9 ай бұрын
@@Flyon86 I don't even know if I would consider Radeon cards to have a weakness in RT, at least not when looking at mid-range pricing, especially here in Europe (people still buy nvidia though due to "mind share"). I got an RX6800 for the same price as an 3060Ti, and the performance overhead on the AMD side is big enough for it to outperform the 3060Ti in RT workloads (even heavy RT workloads). Sure, they don't belong in the same tier class... But price-wise, they did. Anyway, heavy RT workloads is really just an exclusivity club for the absolute high-end at this point requiring 4080+ performance. Looking at more realistic scenarios like Unreal Engine with Lumen and Nanite, a card like the RX6800 actually outperforms the 3070 in Unreal Engine 5 even with hardware accelerated RT turned on. Which is a more realistic target for this console generation. :)

@@PixelShade it depends on the application, 6800xt is more equivalent to the 3070ti I think really as far as tier goes too. Last year in April 2023 I was looking at getting my first PC, I was considering building but was also eyeing out prebuilts or more accurately those “ready to go PCs” as I was new and it’d be easier to deal with just one delivery rather than parts after parts as I worked and still had school. I was pretty much stuck between considering the freshly released RTX 4070 or the RX 6950 XT which was similar in price but also was in a built PC on a discount a few hundred Australian dollars cheaper than a PC part picker list I made of same or similar parts. I was making this PC to be an entry level 4K PC you say, I know future games and a couple of current won’t be good for 4K but I went for the 6950 XT as I wanted the extra vram in light of 8GB becoming obsolete and 12GB pushing 4K already and the extra raster performance would help greatly. It definitely works great for 4K with the games I have and I’ll keep it until RDNA 5 and RTX 6000 series at least which then a new GPU would probably be a big deal, especially to get native 4K in games by then. Horizon Forbidden West seems doable at max 4K settings if the 50s are okay though so my 4K dream for 2024’s games isn’t over, even if it comes from technically 2022’s games. I’d say you weren’t too wrong about your opinion for the first half of 2023, but later on the 6900 XT and 6950 XT have gotten new RDNA 3 competition and recently the 4070 Super which has eroded away the value. Here in Australia there was one retailer still selling 6950 XTs until this month for 900AUD which wasn’t a bad price at all though the GRE now mixes that up. Ultimately the 6950 XT and 6900 XT aren’t that much different though, the 6950 just has some extra bandwidth and higher clock speeds which do make it very close to a 4070 Ti in raster. But the 6950 XT was more available last year here than its older brother so it basically replaced it. It was a no value refresh at launch but it proved useful once it dropped to last gen discount prices. We do funnily have similar PCs, mine’s just like a bin up lol. 6950 XT vs 6900 XT and Ryzen 7600X vs a 7500F. Makes for a good pair I’d say, works great for 1440p and still capable at 4K for most newer games (not Alan Wake 2) though upcoming games are very questionable on the 4K capabilities as we get closer to the next generation of GPUs that will put it further down the stack relatively compared to current gen. I’m thinking between a 5060 Ti and 5070 is where the RX 6900’s will land, but with more vram.

Well to shake things up, the 6900xt and even the 6950xt, memory bandwidth is one of it's biggest choke points especially at 4k, so at 4k it's helping a fair bit. Big reason why the 7900xt is a better buy even at a slightly higher price is the additional bandwidth. That and the 7900xt uses about 100w less power and is much better for AI, FSR4 or whatever FSR generation AI upscaling is introduced in may not support the 6000 series for this reason.
@Hayden24479 ай бұрын
@@PineyJustice True, and I further overclocked the memory on my 6950 XT so it’s running at like 604GB/s instead of 575GB/s. I’m sure it’s helpful, the clock speeds can be too and I can underclock to like 2.2GHz and power usage sits below 200w thanks to my undervolt but I generally keep at least 255w limit to maintain at least slightly higher clock speeds than without undervolting. If I up the power it can also hit 2.6GHz at 4K no problem and even 2.7GHz at lower resolutions when there is more power to go to the clock speed. 7900 XT is definitely a better GPU but it was more expensive, I got my 6950 XT for 70 class prices when it’s closer to 70 Ti performance. 7900 XTs are above a bit but were 70 Ti class prices. Here in Australia they can get close to where the 6950 XT was when I got my PC with them but not quite yet.

@@Hayden2447 Don't get me wrong, I love the 6950xt, I had a red devil 6950xt and sold it when I got my 7900xtx nitro+ and recently chanced on a deal I couldn't pass up to get another 6950xt nitro+ for my secondary pc. Was able to sell the 6700xt I had in it for 300$ and the same day a friend offered the 6950 for 400$. That said, Unless you get a killer deal and ONLY care about gaming, particularly non 4k gaming, the 7000 cards are very worth the extra spend. Power monitoring changed between RDNA2 and RDNA3, leading to a 325w 6950xt using just about an identical amount of power as a 400w 7900xtx as RDNA2 only reports gpu core power while 7900xtx reports total board power. And lastly, it's barely talked about, but it's absolutely amazing the range you can get out of RDNA2 and RDNA3 cards with extreme efficiency or overclocks, and the ability of adrenalin to automatically apply these settings on a per game basis is an incredible advantage.

As someone who bought a 6900XT in February of 2021, I can attest that, despite minor hiccups in the ray tracing / upscaling departments, it was the right choice. Getting a 6900XT or 6800XT at or close to launch is the same vibes as getting a 1080Ti at or close to its launch date. Even if it slowly gets morally obsolete as new generations arrive, I bet it can hold strong until it is finally time to upgrade to a 6090, 9900XTX or whatever Intel pushes out. The higher end 6000 series horsepower is enough to carry us through this generation and into the next.

Here are some number off the top of my head, from my Ryzen 7 7700x and RX6900XT: Helldivers 2 - 1440p ultra around 70-90fps, feels super smooth. Cyberpunk - had a lot of testing with this game. Ultra no RT - 80-90 fps and 120fps+ with FSR Quality. Ultra lowest RT (I think reflections only) needs FSR Quality but then it does 60 fps at least while still looking great. I prefer no RT and playing at high refresh rates. Alan wake 2 1440p Ultra no RT needs FSR Quality to get above 60 and reaches 60-80 fps. Great video as always! I was lucky that a store in my country was trying to get rid of their stock and had a sale where if you buy a whole new PC you can buy the card for around 350$ !!! Bought two new PCs with this card in them and sold two old gaming PCs, getting the total of the new PCs to around 1300$ each.

I absolutely love you reviews, I have my own moderately priced gaming PC which is my personal gaming PC as I am not a content creator, but it is very similar to your test bench, except I have a 7600 rather than the 7500F, I paired my system with a 7800XT, I was holding off to see what Nvidia were going to do with their pricing on the Super cards and swiftly realised that I didn’t have 4070Ti Super money and wasn’t bothered by DLSS or RT, but I was conscious of VRAM limitations, so didn’t want to go for the 4070 Super. Coming from a laptop with an i7-9750h and a 1660Ti of the laptop flavour, my setup has changed my ability to play games at higher resolution and settings no end. I have started playing Helldivers recently and according to the Adrenalin software, my average FPS on Helldivers at 1440p ultra with FSR at ultra performance, I am getting 119.9, I cannot complain at the performance boost this system has given me, had I waited just a month or so, I could have bought the 7900GRE, not that I am regretful of my choice though :) Have you been able to do a review on the 7800XT? I got mine close-ish to a year ago, absolutely love it [although mine has some pretty annoying coil whine but can't be heard with a headset on even with zero volume so not really an issue] I bit the bullet a bit early , they had dropped from over a £1000 to £650 when I got mine, it went down another £100 ish over the next few months than they vanished. Still nice to see the second hand market is still strong for these. I don't bother with the ray tracing though, the performance isn't great. I can get away with just reflections in the few games I have that use ray tracing at 60 + fps with upscaling, but I would far rather have the higher framerate and clearer image. Spiderman did run amazingly even with ray tracing and no upscaling , I was getting over 144fps at 1440p and it was silky smooth. In other ray tracing games like Rachet and Clank the frame rate was decent but there seemed to be stutters introduced and there was only a couple of places I found I could tell a visual difference with it on or off. With the way game that game plays you aren't really going to notice a difference unless you actively look for reflections disappearing anyway . Definitely a great card, still if I was buying now I would get a 4070 or 4070 super, but this offered the best performance at an expensive but at the time half decent price. First time I have used an amd gpu and would have no hesitation using them again when it is time to upgrade, depending on who offers the best value at the higher mid range end
