Iva's Electric Blue mullet is the most epically luxurious mullet to ever mullet, it almost makes me forgive mullets for existing lol Icehouse are amazing live, I was only a kid in their day, but I got to see them a few times in the 2010s and Iva is magical, especially on Man of Colours with the oboe, as you've discovered already. I've collected a heap of Icehouse reissue vinyls, they're my favourite Aussie band.

Great reaction. In the 80’s we had Icehouse, Farnsy, and Barnsey smashing out so many awesome songs. Icehouse don’t seem to get the accolades despite having more success internationally than a lot of other Aussie bands and singers. This song charted in the top 10 in the U.S. Crazy, Great Southern Land, No Promises and My Obsession are great songs as well.

Although this is one of their most popular songs and was their breakthrough hit in the USA, it’s a collaboration with John Oates of Hall and Oates. I always hear a lot of the Hall and Oates influence in this track and I never really considered it a “typical” Icehouse song (which isn’t to knock it, it just doesn’t really sound like the rest of their stuff). So in some ways it’s not the best introduction to the band’s sound- some other song choices that are more typical of Icehouse as a whole would be Great Southern Land, Hey Little Girl, Street Café, Don’t Believe Anymore, Dusty Pages, No Promises, Baby You’re So Strange and Crazy. They have a pretty deep catalogue and the album tracks are usually pretty good as well.

Glenn Reither is the saxophonist, still performing with Icehouse from time to time and over the years he has worked with lots of artists including Jon Stevens, Daryl Braithwaite, Jack Jones, Guy Sebastian, Russell Morris, and a whole lot you haven’t heard of yet - don’t worry there is heaps more Aussie talent to uncover. Glenn has worked internationally as well, he also plays keyboards.

Crazy by Icehouse A MUST SEE Favorite singing part for me is when he says... So if I'm dreaming don't wake me tonight. Also when they first started out as a band they were called FLOWERS, but they had to change it as another band had the name. They changed their name to ICEHOUSE and Icehouse is the first track on their 1st album called ICEHOUSE, that they released under the band name FLOWERS. So that song title Icehouse, is what they changed their name to. And by the way, that song called Icehouse by them is so bloody amazing vocally, a very haunting sounding song and still my all time one i love the most and listen to😁 Still have the original FLOWERS...ICEHOUSE vinyl too😃 🙏💜💜💜

When it's ur Weds it's our Thurs. Icehouse Great Southern land & Miss Divine are great songs esp Great Southern Land which is a story of our country & is so iconic that 30+ years later the Aussie cricket team has this song blaring as they take the field for each session of the days play for the whole 5 days no matter if we are going out to bat or bowl. It's also used for the shorter version games, day/nighters & T/20's where there's only 2 sessions of play, one batting then bowling or vice versa. It's extremely patriotic, it sends chills down my spine & i also have tears in my eyes. If u liked The Seekers I am Australian then you'll love Great Southern Land also & another song about our gorgeous, unique, mysterious island continent is called "Sounds of Then" ("This is Australia") by Gangajang

Yes it was Icehouse and Micheal Paynter you reacted to and they are older as that was their 40yr Anniversary concert you saw. This song was early 80s they are another iconic Aussie band had many many great hits.

One of my life long Crushes. Seen them live back in the late 80s. Yes it was both of them. Some absolutely gorgeous songs. He is so talented. Like Paul Kelly. A great writer.

I was around 12 years old when this song came out. I remember I wore an Icehouse t-shirt to Dreamworld and a creepy middle aged guy told me he thought I was wearing a Penthouse t-shirt.

Great video! This was a favourite of mine in like 5th grade lol. There was another band “1927” that had a song called “If” around the same time .. I think you would like it 🌺
