I wish I could budget like the two of you. However, there are No regrets at all. I admire the way you and your wife engage fellow travelers to explore places that are often times beyond imagination. We depart later this week and I am saddened😢because it has been an absolutely amazing vacation (the land (glaciers, waterfalls, black sand beaches, glacier hikes, lagoons, volcanoes, continental divide, geysers,) the people, the exceptional customer service, the food (especially Icelandic Lamb) the whales and puffins, and Icelandic Horses have made this a vacation of a lifetime. First day of summer isn't really summer in Iceland 😅 - Summer is June-July-August. If you are lucky then May and September are usually pretty decent as well. I can see on the videos that summer has not started, the grass is still not green which is perhaps the best indication to see if summer has arrived or not 😉
