Icelandic police doesn’t even carry guns. That’s how quiet it is there. One reason for it being so quiet, crime wise is of course their remote location. Not attracting “problems”

They do, some have Glocks in a locked case in the back of their cruisers.

Wow no way! You actually went filming in Iceland and got some catches!! Super jealous haha 😆 That looked like a pretty big fire call too. Imagine if you were at one of the main fire stations when that call came in!! 😳 Great stuff!

Haha thanks! I think the fire started while I was still in the air, because I saw the smoke/fire from the airport bus when I arrived to Reykjavik and all units were allredy on scene then. But at least I was able to take some on scene footage and photos of some units. Otherwise it was very difficult to see any responses in ''downtown'' Reykjavik, not much happened there it seems. But it's a cool (and expensive 😆) place, maybe I'll go back sometime in the future.

Great video! There for sure arent many response videos from Iceland. Also surprise for me that Iceland swithed to yellow ambulances with simple battenburg pattern. Their previous markings were very unique, at least for Icelandic Red Cross what I remember.

Thank you! Yeah, the previous ambulance markings was unique. I actually saw a parked ambulance that still had the old markings. But almost all ambulances seem to be newer yellow Sprinters.

Amazing video, this video is truly a Northern European treasure! I can only imagine how difficult it was to catch all these. Also, it was hard to tell since it was driving by so fast, but I believe that unmarked Ford is indeed a Police Interceptor and not the civilian Explorer! Interesting that of all the European countries that use Ford, Iceland is the one with the North American exclusive Police Interceptor haha

Yes, that is a ford interceptor police vehicle. There are a handful here and they belong to the police special unit.

Who rides in that big black limo with the police escort at 1:36? That car appears to be from the 1940’s, so it must be at least 75 years old!

That was the president, easily identified by the license plate number and flag on the bonnet. It's a 1942 Packard, a car he uses on special occasions, in this case June 17th, Iceland's national day. Only 6000 cars of this type were manufactured. He usually drives a more modern EV without police escort, but with the same license plate, #1.
