The KEF-LGW sector before your flight departs KEF at 07:35. Maybe your inbound aircraft was delayed waiting for connecting passengers from a transatlantic flight- Icelandair have around 12 flights from the USA and Canada that arrive at KEF between 05:45 and 06:45 that connect to departing European cities. Love the cabin- really nice design. Were there only two check-in desks at LGW open for your flight? I imagine that would lead to long queues. Also nice to see Azerbaijan Airlines checking in next to you.

Yep, just two check in desks at Gatwick. When we arrived there were 3 but the Saga Premium line got switched to the Delta flight next door. Also, I was shocked to see Icelandair do a Boeing 757 flight to Portland which takes 7.5 hours. I think that’s pushing it on a narrow body, especially when they don’t provide headphones.
