I'm a CRK fanboy so I'm extremely biased. But once I finally bought my first one I understood the hype. Now I have seven on them.

Wow that blade really does take it up a notch in my opinion. Looks more complete with that shape.

That is a small regular, plaza cutlery exclusive dog paw. Very nice! The classic was the precursor to the 21. The regular was retired unfortunately I for one preferred the regular format. Thanks for the comparisons.

I love how the large Inkosi Insino just falls right into my finger grooves. I got the charcoal lanyard and it really goes well with the natural micarta. Both knives are great, but I keep reaching for the Inkosi.

I believe the cut out on the blade spine may be for sparking ferro rods.

Sebenzas are well worth the price
@lucacadianalbert7 жыл бұрын
CRK is still my benchmark when it comes to other knives in that price range and it goes beyond the knife - like you said, their CS/Spa is unmatched.
@lucacadianalbert7 жыл бұрын
with they spa they also have an option to replace the blade for a small fee. That's amazing!

Agreed everything I buy is measured against CRK. Most don't measure up!
@shaunpearson79056 жыл бұрын
That's one reason (only?) why I hesitate; if I have a problem or want the "spa" treatment I couldn't send it in without risk. edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention - ...because I'm Canadian

I have two large Sebenzas (insingo and tanto), one small Sebenza (clip point), a large inkosi clip point and small inkosi insingo, all plain janes. It’s true the pivot on the Sebenzas is easier to deal with but the Inkosi (large and small) feel more solid and come smooth straight out of the box without a hint of lock stick. There’s no break in period. And centering an inkosi is very easy. The handle grooves make more sense in the large inkosi than in the small ones. But it doesn’t bother me although I wish the handles in the small inkosi were straight like the sebenzas. Both knives are great and in the end other knives are merely fads based on the flavor of the month. CRK knives are a benchmark with hardly any significant faults. That’s my two cents. Great review.

I will be picking up a small Inkosi with the insingo blade in January to complement my regular large Sebenza from 2001.

The blade is thicker on the inkosi. .14 as opposed to .12 on the 21.

The 25 could be considered a prototype but then again the 25 was built through the most common surveys taken for improvements suggestions to the 21

Are those paw prints on that classic, as you called it. I really like that humorous/fantastical design element. edit: commented too soon - dog paws. Got it!

Doesn't the spa treatment cost extra $$, you mentioned warranty in the same breath?
@overlandedc5 жыл бұрын
Only the cost of shipping unless you are replacing the blade or getting dual lugs installed

The gimping on the inkosi looked different, looks like it has high and low gimping grinds. Just another difference looks like.
@ImageLoX7 жыл бұрын
The thickness behind the edge is also a “big difference”. 20 wheel vs a 10 wheel. Reviewing a knife with the highest standards and tightest tolerances deserves the same treatment on the review.

That was my first thought when I got my inkosi, perfect for striking a feral rod.

The inkosi has a thicker blade. IMO the inkosi is a cheap out. There is only one precision ground stand off to keep the symmetry between the scales from top to bottom. Also, the screws are not the same. That free floating stop pin is a waste as well as it doesn't matter how think it is the scales can still compress on the blade. The Sebenza is superior. If they combined the best of both knives they'd have the perfect knife. $450- 600 is waaaaay over priced for the Inkosi in it's current config. Maybe for the Sebenza...
@STERLING43O6 жыл бұрын
Inkosi is the best knife. Large hardware. Thicker blade. There is a reason Chris made the knife at a later time in life. You may feel that the sebenza is best. But your wrong. Call Chris and ask. The fact that the blade is thicker. There are less screws.... You should understand engineering if your buying knives at this price. Get with the program or shut the fuck up

Sorry... Benchmade warranty is better than Chris Reeves warranties. Like the knife but I think you are a little biased on the brand.
@overlandedc6 жыл бұрын
TheDigitalcrack what does Benchmade have to do with this video? Also how do you know? Have you had to use both and have a personal experience to base it on?
@TheDigitalcrack6 жыл бұрын
EDC Gear Reviews yes..I have both. Maccasar ebony sebenza 21 and a custom Benchmade mini crooked river. Benchmade is mention because video said that there was "no other company" who has a better warranty. Chris reeve warranty won't cover if you flick your blade (Benchmade does)..and Chris reeve won't cover your knife if you aren't the original owner, again Benchmade will. So the that easily shows they have a better lifetime warranty. The Sebenza 21 and other Chris reeve knives are still the very best, that's not what I debating. My comment was only based in who had the best warranty. GREAT VIDEO BY THE WAY
@overlandedc6 жыл бұрын
@@TheDigitalcrack CRK will do a spa treatment on any of their knives, even if you aren' the original owner. I know because I've purchased many used CRK's and have sent them in before. As far as the flick thing I mean how would they have any idea if you've flicked your knife open? Plus I think that was an old wives tail from when Chris was in charge. No doubt Benchmade has a great warranty.
@gandolflitke5 жыл бұрын
Sorry but no. Benchmade has the worst quality control when it comes to warranty. There are many videos and accounts of people sending knives in to benchmade just to have them send it back without doing anything to the knife or having another problem that they did not have when they sent it in. Not to mention benchmades life sharp warranty is a joke, uneven bevels and too course of a grind. CRK warranty sends back a brand new knife after a spa treatment. I've seen people get second hand sebenza and send them to crk with 15 years of wear and tear and CRK takes care of it. There is a difference in quality when sending in a $400 knife apposed to a $150-$250 knife. CRK beats benchmades joke of a warranty by far.
@no1up5 жыл бұрын
@@TheDigitalcrack i think the difference is you won't NEED the warranty as much with CRK

The divot on the spine on the Ikosi can't be a design choice. I guess it's an reference point while the blade is ground.

Not much different to my eye - in both cases the inlays are simply following the contours of their respective shapes.
