Used these for several years and they were very reliable; great to see you've designed the beer lines for duotight now as the stainless compression fittings were.. problematic (wasn't sure what you were going to say in the pause there). Interestingly I noticed a little overflow from these units on a regular basis - eventually I put 2 + 2 together and realised a small amount of condensate pools on the inside cover and periodically drains into the bath.. perfectly harmless but had me worried till I figured it out.

If using this unit as a glycol supply for fermenters, where would the glycol return go? In the video you showed the 1/2" connection to the inlet of an external pump, but it wasn't clear where the glycol return should/could go. Thanks!
@KegLand5 жыл бұрын
You can use one of the glygocl retun bulkheads on the side of the unit. Alternatively you can take the top off the unit and just dangle the hose directly back into the tank.
@andreasmauch67875 жыл бұрын
@@KegLand Hey Kegland. So you can return the to either of the bulkheads? Either the water in or water out bulkhead?
@KegLand5 жыл бұрын
@@andreasmauch6787 Yes. The return doesnt matter. It's just a tube that goes back into the tank so you can use either return you like.

Great Video. Im very serious about this Chiller to cool my PC CPU and GPU. Running a glycol/water mix in a closed loop from the chiller to my CPU and then to the GPU and back to the Chiller. Im thinking that having a Y fitting adapter on two of the outputs into a 1/4" ID hose would be optimal for both the Input and Output. Any comment?

Yes we seem to get a lot of people purchase these who are using them for bitcoin mining. Yes you can use the duotight fittings to achineve that. We have quite a large selection of duotight fittings on the website now.

Thanks for the video. How many individual fermenters could be hooked up to the g40.1, and is there capacity to run these at unique temperatures (say ale vs lager temps side by side)? Cheers
@KegLand6 жыл бұрын
It depends on how much heat is ingressing into those fermenters. This makes this question difficult to answer. This unit has about 1kw cooling capacity. Generally if you have a well insulated small fermenter like a 30L size fermenter you might get as much as 50 watt heat ingress. So if that is the case you technically will be able to chill about 14 of these fermenters with the G40 running at a 60% duty cycle and still have some spare capacity up your sleeve

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking at a homebrew scale, with the intention of replacing multiple fermentation fridges with a single glycol cooling unit, but ability to run multiple fermenters simultaneously. Looking forward to a video showing how to best set up a fermenter cooling system off the g40.1

will there be a video on how to use this with conical fermenters like ss brewtech 7 gal conical and FTSS sytem?
@KegLand6 жыл бұрын
We dont sell the Brewtech stuff so we would be reluctant to do a video on this particular stuff but we will be brining our own range of stainless conical tanks and stuff out later on this year so we will probably do a video on these when they are available.

@@KegLand you're developing some small stainless fermenters? Or are you referring to the larger commercial ones you make?

Will it work on the grainfather conical fermenter ?
@KegLand6 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely. It will work on multiple of these.

thanks for the reply. will I need a pump for each one ?
@KegLand6 жыл бұрын
It will make it a lot easier to setup if you just get a pump for each fermenter. You dont need anything special for the pumps as the flow rate doesnt need to be that high and i would imagine you will not need much pressure or head. Do even a cheap pump on ebay that you can get for $10 will probably do the job for you fine. The immersable pumps are probably the easiest ones to use and then use a seprate temp controller for each fermenter as well.

Oh nice! Thought these might be the older version. Both appear to be out of stock right now but I'll keep an eye out. I have a UBC Kalinka-Ice glycol chiller but need something with a bigger reservoir now.

Oh, also... is is possible to use this as an ice bank with a fermentor? Would I need a separate vessel with liquid and a pump, then I'd pump that liquid through the internal tubing of the chiller?

Is this what is now being marketed as the Icemaster 100?

What is the flow rate? L/min
@KegLand6 жыл бұрын
The flow rate depends on the head. The max head is 6.5 meters. The max flow is about 2000liters per hour. The impeller pump is 35watts that comes standard with the unit.
@KegLand6 жыл бұрын
The agitator pump on the top has a flow rate of about 16liters per minute. If you remove the propellor at the end of the agitator then all the power will go to the impleller and you will get closer to 25Lper minute. It's also important to not that this does not take head and hose resistance into account.
