This is my first video of yours I’ve ever watched. Very interesting setup with breakers and fuses powering this mighty charger from a hidden battery source. I assume either you live off-grid or this is in a trailer. I’ll have to watch more videos to find out :) You might know this by now…. I’m on my second 4010 Duo charger so I personally addressed this years ago…. But the charge leads they included (the ones I assume you modified in this video) have “spring cage” 4mm bullets to plug into the charger. That was the hottest temp reading you got on the output. You should change these over to “solid” bullets (I don’t know what they are called, but similar to what’s inside your XT150 connectors). I just ordered 20 more from China for maybe $12, or you can get 4 from your local hobby shop for $5-8. The 4mm spring cage bullets are not rated to carry anywhere near the current you were pushing through them in this video. Stay supercool

Couple of questions here. First off you seem like your very knowledgeable in what you do and thanks for the detailed video. The only 2 questions I have after watching are……. First what are the batteries for ? Second what’s is all the circuit breakers and other stuff on the wall for. I use regenerative discharge every so often and not the sharpest when it comes to understanding it all. I just hook up the 2 batteries, set values, and let it do its thing. Am I doing something wrong ? Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond.

Thank you. iCharger also makes the X6 and X8 models, which are single channel units. Very popular option, a lot more affordable and also have excellent current handling. The Duo series is basically two chargers in one, and that’s allows for some advanced features like regen between channels and synchronous mode.

Heh, never thought I'd see a TS-100 soldering so much cable together, must have taken some patience. I only operate mine at ~17-20V from a 5s pack so I guess I'm not getting the full 60W, but still seems like it'd barely be capable of that.

jkenny1 I should have included a real time video of the 8 awg... it only took about 5 second of heating and it started accepting solder and was fully saturated within about 10 seconds. I use the largest tip they offer at 24 volts. 6s pack charged to 4.0v per cell. Give it another shot at full power, it continues to impress me a lot. Soldering the two 12 to the 8 took about 30-40 seconds, that was a lot of mass.

The TS100 is a little beast and I love mine. I use it more often than my Pace, and JBC stations.

Forgive me.... What's going on here? You set the input to battery? Are you charging the battery you are using as power? What's the purpose of that task?

The purpose of this setup is to capacity test batteries. The configuration allows me to do this very quickly, and without wasting power since I am moving power between two batteries, while metering the capacity. If not for this config, it would take significantly longer using the chargers internal load… appropriately take 10 times longer. Internal max load is 200 watts, vs 2000 watts in regen with the channels combined.
