Incredible. While it's a bit harder to understand what is going on due to all the effects, specifically the part where jade shrinks the planets, it still looks amazing. It's interesting that you switched the order at the end. In the original the meteor was launched to the sun, then Dave and Rose phased out of it, but you switched it. Still, you added a lot of life to the animation, I love the Genesis frog reacting to the red miles. Also, jack flipping the switch to fix a plot hole, that was a nice touch. There are also a lot of small things that I'm glad you kept in, like Jack looking up at the sky after placing Jade at on the quest bed. Amazing work.

It has been a while since I finished reading Homestuck After watching your wonderful animation, I suddenly realized that Jack Noir's red string, or whatever it is, ACTUALLY SYMBOLIZED TUMOR'S ANGIOGENESIS. Like, Jack Noir was the cancer to the universe frog. WTF...

comments like these prove that reading and comprehending things are two totally different things, and that a lot of people who 'read' homestuck never 'comprehended' it.. one of the reasons why reading to finish something instead of taking your time to comprehend it aint it, considering this was one of the big conflicts in the story and was mentioned at least 10 times; karkat literally told them that he gave their universe cancer and went through this entire spiel about how he blamed himself for it because he rushed kanaya thru the frog breeding process several times come onnnnnnn broooooo

some things i liked! - 8:03 Can I just say, you make Jade look SO COOL during her god tier sequence. The way she realizes what she can do with her new powers and then turns the meteor into a rock that she just throws to the side, that's just so cool and I don't think the original animation really captures that feeling. - 9:23 John getting jumpscared by Jade teleporting and then nearly falling onto the ship as he's teleported on is hilarious lol - 9:49 the planets look like an atom!! that's so cool!! - 10:43 i love how you capture the sudden realization for the brief moment Rose+Dave are alive as the Tumor explodes and the Green Sun is formed. I know those frames are present in the original but you make it so much more emotional in this moment.

I see what you did there with using a different version of the song at the end and ending the animation with Rose looking at the green sun, with a sad tone instead of an epic one - I believe the idea was to make the green sun plot-twist more clear - I remember that I myself was confused and didn't understand what happened the first time I watched the original. But still, cutting the part where John and Jade go through the portal? That was like the most important part of the whole flash! I respect what you did here, but I don't think modifying that final part could make it any better as it already was a hell of a powerhouse of emotions (and the cascade cut of the green sun song works objectively better for the epic cliffhanger, there's the guitar part, the piano part, THE VIOLIN PART WHERE ROSE AND DAVE ASCEND, it's just too cool not to use imo) I did appretiate the other changes though, davesprite and jadesprite almost holding hands was a nice touch, and Jade's little foot stamp too Jade teleporting to John sideways is very funny, I did laugh Yeah I guess I just really liked the Jade part as a whole, the way you animated her space powers is awesome the spades slick standing in front of dying universe shot is badass and the face animation is very good Also... I have a few issues with the sound design - in the parts where you left the original version of the songs you used a low-quality version of audio from the flash itself, while these same songs were available in higher quality. And also, there are silent pauses between the parts which were the way they are in the original because the flash was composed of several files, it was due to technical limitations and I don't think they should translate into your animation like that, especially at 4:26 the cut is very abrupt sorry I go into specifics without talking about how good this is first, I admit, I kinda don't know what to say about the animation itself because I know nothing about animating stuff, but it does look fucking awesome - like, I have no idea how much time do these animations take, don't want to appear a harsh critic of anything like that, I have a few things to point out but the thing is still amazing

The one thing that always stands out to me is how much unnecessary movement there is. The camera panning a bit when it could just as easily be still, or a head tilting, there were a lot of parts where I felt like it took away from the tone instead of adding to it. That said, I cant deny the passion that went into this and overall the recreation is quite good.

Great animation as always, however I have a bit of constructive criticism. You tend to over-saturate backgrounds in some shots, which work well enough for Ultrakill animations, where two people fight - one glowing and the other of contrasting colouration. It's both readable and shows the scale of attacks well. For Homestuck on the other hand, it blurs the overall composition and it's sometimes hard to tell, what's going on. I believe it works well showing the destructive strength as we can see with meteors falling onto the Battlefield, but when it cuts to Jadesprite and Davesprite it sort of creates chaos on screen. That's when it should be tuned down. When you're making an animation, you see everything clearly regardless as you know exactly what you did there, but especially for expressions and important dynamic events (such as ripping uranium out of WV), more contrast would make the animation more readable. That being said, how you do it now also hides some lesser flaws on models or background and since you do this whole ambitious animation alone, it's only natural you don't have time to polish everything to 100%, but if that's not your goal, I'd consider adding more contrast. That being said I'm very impressed with the models, the shadows and most of all shots that you adapted from the original animation. Of course you can't translate all media 1:1, so changes in "camera placement" and gestures of characters seem to come very naturally to you.

Oh that was incredible!!!! You really brought these scenes to life, I loved the way emotions were expressed through the tiniest movements - Davesprite and Jadesprite were about to hold hands as they were dying!!! That was so poignant and sad And I absolutely loved the Snowman confrontation scene for the cool factor and the way you made the character models Also Jade showing up sideways from John's POV to pick him up was both hilarious and showed her mastery over Space, that she had no need to inhabit the same perspective as everyone else anymore

This is such an incredible work of art, to make sense of Cascade in a 3D scale, basically frame for frame and keep not only the style, add your own, and enhance the overall vibe to an even greater scale is phenomenal talent!

I love the unique texture you give your animations! Kinda reminds me of stopmotion (in a good way)

Really does highlight some key weaknesses in storytelling that the original had, really. There's definitely a lot of times where it just feels like stuff just happens in Homestuck animations and you need to read a summary later, but here it feels more clear. The idea that the universes were literally IN the red and blue chambers was a big one. (and that its not just a thematic scene transition) And there is a strong sense of visual throughlines that Hussie seemed to lack until fairly late into HS. (Like the emphasis on that meteor Jade winds up casually discarding) Hussie makes up for it in a lot of ways, but for all his frankly INCREDIBLE visual composition skills, he often doesn't continuously visually reference specific elements and ideas visiospatially unless they're just a gag- so things only get a consistent presence in that regard if they're associated with the theme of "joke," like Lil' Cal. He does do this better seemingly with Psycholonials when it does get animation content though, IMO

I absolutely love the way you animate Jack, it makes him look angelic, and the juxtaposition of that is CRAZY. This is awesome work I continue to be absolutely astounded by what you're pulling off
