If you think too much in points and material you won't spot patterns that involve Queen sacrifices.

Talking to myself while calculating makes things easier for me to outwardly verbalize it ... At least during practice. Also streamers do this all the time under the guise of talking to their chat. So I don't think talking to yourself is the first sign of madness. Holding a full conversation with yourself is where things start to get questionable.

if you talk to yourself or to the objects it's ok and not really dangerous but when the objects start talking to you then it is something serious ;-)

"Can you explain H6? No, you can't." Actually, I think I can. High-level chess players are not concerned about things like the bishop coming and pinning the black knight when it is developed, or knights coming to G5 hoping to get to H7 and forking Queen and Rook. Those take several moves and they can take care of it when the time comes. But beginners get spanked all the time with those exact moves. That small H6 move saves tons of trouble for beginners, and after getting mauled over and over it's just something they do. Same for A1, except that it also provides luft, preventing back row mate, another killer for beginners.

Simon, it's Doppelganger, with a P, a P son. Not Dobbelganger with a B, but with a P. A P. Don't you know your German folklore? C'mon, man!

Simon isn't Dutch--he only plays the Dutch---and since the doppelganger is of Germanic origin, we go with their pronunciation. Thus, it's doppelganger.
