Do you use icicles? Nobody wants a damaging ice storm. But if you get an ice storm, I hope you get some enjoyment out of it, too, by using icicles in your drinks!

You really need to write a book, or at least a pamphlet! I'd love to know what's to forage right this moment at any given moment here in the Willamette Valley. Love your channel, love Oregon's wild food.

We live in wild food abundance here in the Willamette Valley and western Oregon, that's for sure! I'm glad you are enjoying my videos, Gothfield.

I’d just never do this I don’t feel ice or snow from anywhere in the world is safe to ingest anymore. Sad but I feel true. This is the only thing I disagree with. I’ve never been any thing but your true fan. You are beyond awesome on 99%

Ppl trapped in the mountains in ca were told not to melt and drink the snow. The sky is sprayed with all sorts of chemicals these days. It’s a charming idea though.

Our air and water contamination is a sad story, alright. We are all exposed to so many contaminants in daily life. It can be overwhelming. So many communities get their water from surface water, which is just rain and snowmelt. And the farther down the river system a community is, the longer time chemical processes have had to make new combinations of contaminants, especially those long-chain molecules that are hard to break down. Other communities have to use contaminated groundwater. And that doesn't even get into our exposures through food packaging, clothing, upholstery, and more. For me, the contamination of freshwater fish hurts the worst, for my own way of being, and for so many people that rely on the abundance of local fish for reliable food. When it comes to the contamination of our snow and rain, I think about the total load I'll be exposed to. That's a combination of the concentration of the contaminants, times the volume of the ice or snow that I actually consume. When it comes to icicles, I'm not living off of them, just enjoying a few. So my exposure from these cocktails is less than many other things in my life. Certainly less than from drinking from plastic bottles or grease-resistant food packaging, that I try to keep to a minimum. Thanks for giving me the chance to comment about this, Paula Hulse.

Lovely to watch! We don't have ice storms like that in Tasmania, but I did see some when I was in Texas. My preference when it's that cold is a hot chocolate!

Great to see you. This was a fun vid and I want a little ice storm now. I can't wait for your future vids, but right now I have got to go back and watch the black locust gin video. I don't know how I missed that one! I have a big black locust right by my porch

Hey, Dwight Nash! I'm glad you found your way to my icicle cocktails! Good news on you having a black locust tree. Those flowers are good for so many things. I'm working on more videos about using them. I hope you enjoy the black locust gin, if you are able to make it. Maybe you will leave a live taste review for it. Happy foraging!

Hey, Miss O.P.! I"m glad you found my icicle video, even without the notifications working right. It's hard to believe it's been 7 years. At least I'm a long-lived perennial, even though I go dormant every now and again. I hope you've been enjoying nature's bounty around you!
