I'm in tears watching this, especially hearing Franziska's letter around 46:00. Thanks, Dr. Kreig.

Fond memories of Dr. Krieg during my time at ND, he is such a good person and always remembered what he told us about his belief on the meaning of life. Would love to see him again someday for a coffee :-)

Terrence Malick's film about Franz Jägerstätter, "A Hidden Life", is inspired by the 2007 book titled "Franz Jägerstätter: Der gesamte Briefwechsel mit Franziska", which was later translated by Robert Krieg!

There is a new film Hidden Life - made i think in 2019 - I ve seen it - amazing - I wish there was more film slike that. Inspiring is Ulm family - polish catholic family - one of many that for hiding jewish people they al got shot by German solders. Stanislawa Leszczynska- polish catholic midwife - she refused to dr Mengele to drown newborn babies from polish woman giving birth in Auschwitz -OSwiecim - she Baptized them instead - she stood up to dr Mengele- he stood ,lookking straight in her face with the gun on his belt and she thought that he ll shoot her but he let her not to kill neworn babies.... Also Wanda Poltawska - she was catholic polish woman - taken to Auschwitz-Oswiecim - adn dr Mengele and other sick man were making experiments on them- she survived - got cancer from those experimeent and Karol Wojtyla (Saint John Paul 2 ) wrote to Saint Pio to pray for her heaaling and she got healed. She might be still alive - she s working pro life all her life after Auschwitz-Oswiecim

Did Franziska always say she believed that he had done the right thing?
